Wasn’t really expecting another one so soon after the last one but really delighted it has happened.  Even more delighted that it’s an image with Stella - my very first FPI with her. It’s my 58th FPI - really proud of all of them, the kudos that comes with them is a huge boost to my photography.  It makes top models want to work with me and that directly benefits you guys, in case you’re wondering why I’m making such a fuss about them!

Clearly Stella’s amazing expression is all the money in this one - the eye contact is amazing and the sweet pose with the relaxed shoulders another plus.

If I’m to take any credit for this, it’s to do with the framing and composition.  besides my trade mark - cutting off the top of the head, I like to do that a lot, yesterday Natalie was asking me about it - I also wanted Stella’s shoulders to be nude, I loved the wig and asked her to wear throughout much of our second shoot.  Last but not least, I think I got the exposure and focus on the eyes more or less right. The last image contains all the technical details.  The f2.8 is standard for portrait mode.  The light was all natural, it’s rather abundant in Cyprus so all you need to do is place your model so as to be lit by window light, which I did. Stella wasn’t standing by the window, of course, otherwise the light would have been a little harsh on her, it was around 4pm in the afternoon. Often in Cyprus there are net curtains and these can be used to soften the light, if it is harsh. They also afford privacy which we needed as we were on a low floor.
