My first shoot with Athena (Patreon)

These images are from my first shoot with Athena, at the south of England in July 2021.  I had to travel three hours to get there and had to stay overnight at a hotel in Portsmouth, but boy was it worth it.  It’s only when you meet a person like Athena for real that you realise that photography allows you to meet people who would never otherwise have met.  Instantly I felt a strange affinity, as if she was the real goddess Athene and I was her father Zeus!  

We did one hours lingerie shoot in my room and continued to a nearby beach that was so nice - you could be forgiven for thinking it was the Mediterranean.  We caught the golden hour light and although I had to use my new Canon speed light, as the light was low, the images turned out gorgeous.  I used a diffuser on the flash which made the light softer and brought out the blues of the sky and the sea so well, you could think we were in Cyprus or Greece.

It all went so well that we decided we have to stick together and travel to Greece or Cyprus to shoot.  In fact Athena was my first choice for Santorini but she couldn’t make it.  I had to invite her to Cyprus after that, and she came very happily. In fact she had such a good time, she didn’t want to leave.

We will be back together in Cyprus in April-  I would welcome suggestions of what and where we could shoot next time.
