Black Panther 2018 FULL REACTION

Comments

Annie Bonz

I’m so excited!!!!!!

Leah B

I believe the actress Danai (Michonne/Okoye) was doing some filming for this movie along with filming S8 of TWD. I believe that is why Michonne had to get injured enough to not be as active in S8. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Anonymous

Danai Gurira (Michonne/Okoye) would have been the almost same age here as where you are currently up to in The Walking Dead. Season 8 was also released in 2018 :)

Anonymous

Oh lol you beat me to it. I wouldn't be surprised if Black Panther was the reason for her lack of screen time in TWDs8, but Marvel movies usually take priority over tv screen time for actors. :)

Keith Duperreault

Captain America is against killing? If you calculated the force needed to kick some of those guys he fought, 30 feet through the air to impact their spines onto concrete buildings, and then fall 20 feet to the ground.... yeah I'm pretty sure he killed a bunch of guys 😂

Thadman

Yeah, Captain America kills people all the time. He's a soldier. He just doesn't want innocent people to be killed.

Superpotroast

I feel like this film is entirely overrated..It's a perfectly fine enough MCU movie, though it feels very Phase 1, especially since it ends with a fight against the bad guy who has the same powers as the hero..And there's some really bad CGI as well.. I haven't read the Black Panther comics but I really thought the flower power thing was kinda dumb, especially if you can just so easily give and take away the powers.. Chadwick Boseman definitely the best part of the movie, but I think I liked him and his arc better in Civil War..

Leah B

Lol! Oh for sure a wig! The dreads would look so much better if it wasn’t a wig. I love seeing Danai on red carpets with other styles.

Leah B

I believe some of the CGI problems were fixed from what people saw in theater. What they have on Disney+ now looks much better.

Superdork3k

Does anyone know if they are planning to do the tv shows also?

Chadwick Boseman sadly passed in 2020 from Colon Cancer, so yes, he did live to see the success and acclaim of the movie. He also played James Brown in "Get on up - The James Brown Story", Jackie Robinson in "42" and Thurgood Marshall in "Marshall", all excellent. It was huge for black people as there's very few other superheroes for them to personally connect with or be inspired by, plus Black Panther was a very popular hero before the movie, so the movie was popular across the world when it came out.

Chadwick passed in 2020 from cancer

The world building around Wakanda is just so beautiful and amazing. The mix between traditions and high technology is great as you said. RIP Chadwick, nobody could have made Black Panther better than him, he was born for this role and he made the most awesome things with the time he had with the character. Chadwick passed in 2020 so he did get to see this movie and more, he inspired so many people especially black people around the world, and he got the love he deserved.

V

Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer before this movie was filmed. He told NO ONE at Marvel, none of his costars and not even the director. (If I recall only 4 or 5 people outside of him family knew.) It’s extraordinary to consider the amount of work he put into these movies, especially physically, while secretly living with cancer. He passed while the world was on COVID lockdown in August 2020. When it was announced he had passed from cancer is was SHOCKING, even more because none even knew he was sick. (I have read that he never told Marvel because he was positive he would beat it. 😢)

Jesse Penick

I hope y'all realize that Klaue is also Golem from Lord of the Rings :-)

Laura Dawson

It’s so bittersweet watching this movie. Remembering how important it was when it came out and the excitement of going to see it, intermixed with the sadness of knowing that Chadwick has passed. I love his portrayal of T’Challa, how calm and thoughtful he is. Such a loss.

Thadman

I think I heard that Ryan Coogler (the director) did know, but he was the only one in the production that knew.

Thadman

Erik didn't have more training than T'Challa, just different training. T'Challa has trained in different forms of hand-to-hand combat and martial arts since he was a boy. You're right though that Erik was hungrier in that first fight. Also, comparisons from the comics, Tony Stark is supposedly worth about $80 billion while T'Challa is worth a few trillion. Also, in part, because of the vibranium advantages of technology, Shuri is more intelligent than Tony Stark. I'm not sure how old exactly she is supposed to be here, but she's still a teen. 17 or 18, maybe?

V

According to an interview Coogler did with CBS News in 2022; he did not know, but said that looking back there were signs his health was declining. Coogler also said that he considered quitting filmmaking after Chadwick passed. The whole thing is heartbreaking. You get the role of a lifetime and a cancer diagnosis. I don’t know how he held it together.

V

Andy Serkis has one of the most the most phenomenal “voice behind the CGI” careers out there. It’s nice to actually see him in this movie.

Leah B

It’s probably not a good idea to mention future films (possible spoiler).

James

MICHONNE!!

CheshireKat528

Martin Freeman said in an interview that the rest of the cast would call him and Andy “The Tolkien White Guys” Andy Serkis is awesome. I couldn’t believe when I saw him in Age of Ultron how jacked he was. It does make sense with his work in motion capture acting and that he has played characters that walk on all fours a lot, that he would have some muscles.

Mimi

Great reaction! I love this movie so much and I'm glad you all did as well :)

Count Monte-Cristo

I am sorry, but when you said, why they are not searching for T'chalas body, I mean, we know it's movie, but for them it's real story so, I don't think they had time and ability to search body when trying to survive and do not get caught.

Anthony Tucceri

Danai Gurira AKA Michonne Is Bald In Real Life. Her Hair In The Walking Dead Is A Wig Which I Didn't Know Until Like 2018 Season 8

Steven Schmaling

And remember a billion seconds is 32ish years. A trillion seconds is 32,000 years. That’s how big the gap is

Leah B

She mostly only goes bald for filming certain things. She usually always lets her hair grow back out in between the needs of the projects.

Kamanda Hickey

I am not even sure about that because I saw her for the first time in Law & Order SVU something like 10 years ago (where she was absolutely incredible by the way) and she was bald. I have never seen her with hair.

Anonymous

Absolutely no spoilers, but the sequel, Wakanda Forever, is an extremely emotional tribute to Chadwick Boseman, while also a good film in its own right.

Anonymous

This was such a great movie your reaction was perfect RIP to Chadwick Boseman what a great king he was made some mistakes but overall he made some great choices

Anonymous

I'm glad y'all pick up on killmonger hate he was full of hatred and rage That's why I like them it's a shame they kill him off That's what pissed me off about the movie 🍿🎥

Anonymous

Love to see Chadwick's acting legacy still endure. The news of his death rattled a LOT of people globally, myself included. I hope to see y'all react to more of his filmography over time. He did as much as he could in the short time he had.

angie808

I finally had time to sit & watch this movie with you guys. Another one of my favorite of the MCU.

Chadwick Biseman was a PHENOMENAL actor. A major loss to us all. But you will see him as Black Panther in I finite War and in Avengers Endgame!! He sadly passed from Colon Cancer that he hid while filming all of the Avenger movies. Sadly he didn't make it to do Black Panther 2"Wakanda Forever"

Reverend Jim Jones

That's really awesome that you've lived and traveled all over and experienced lots of other cultures. I grew up in a VERY small town in the middle of America. I only experienced small town conservative Christian culture. I almost never met people of color. And in fact, was surrounded by racists. So that and the isolation really messes with your head and forms nasty opinions of "others."

Kevin Przy

yep and it happens vice versa,my best friend grew up in a heavy blind Democrat voting area that was majority black and when we met in middle school we had hobbies in common but opposite points of view and experiences which were both loosely based on stereotypes and then we talked about each others experiences and we saw both sides and it changed me and him a lot lmao and that was back in 2015
