The show runner at the time killed off Carl but the messed up thing about it he didn't tell the actor he was going to kill him off he waited to the author got a house close to Lisette then decided to kill them him off because of The actor want more money because of him getting a little bit older. Carl doesn't die in the comic books at all

Jeff1990

Great reaction as always. Theres alot of politics with carl but the show's quality goes high moving forward. Please stick with it till the end. It's worth it. Thats all ill say.

A lot of people hate the way Carl was killed off, and I get it (I’m not making any comment on Chandler himself). However, I loved it. Not everyone gets to go out in a blaze of glory. Heroes die all the time, often in the most seemingly meaningless ways. This just showed that no one is safe, that even a badass like Carl can still get taken out by this world just by exposing himself to the dangers they all tend to take for granted. But more than anything, Carl’s death REALLY has an impact moving forward, much like Glenn’s. I can’t wait for season 9 onwards, my favourite era of TWD.

I wish they hadn’t killed off Carl but of all the ways they could have done it I actually kinda like how it was handled.

Kim Magee

Was sad they killed Karl, didn't like him that much as a kid, but her matured very well, and I loved scenes with negative, and his connections with many of the characters

@Mackendie This is both a spoiler as well as unnecessary and unasked for information that takes away from the experience of the show itself.

You guys asked when this show gets "bad" for most people this was the turn off point. It doesn't mean it's a awful show from here onwards but it always felt like Carl was supposed to make it and there's defiantly an emptiness left behind

Kamanda Hickey

I loved Michonne and Carl relationship. They found each other when they both needed it and it was beautiful to watch. I guess I am one of the few who wasn't that attached to Carl (I mean not particularly even if I never disliked him like a lot of people who now cry that it was the worst idea ever to kill him ). I was sad for a while for sure because he grew up with us viewers and became a badass Grimes. That's how I remember him. At least he died surrounded by his family and he had the time to say Goodbye.

@AmethystRock

What I loved most about thus episode was the cutting back and forth between Carl remembering when he was younger and killed the Woodbury kid in the woods who was surrendering and then going to Henry killing Gavin who was surrendering. Morgan having inner conflict to kill or not to kill followed by Carl's words of what happens next? He is right - what are they fighting for? They kill everyone, win the war but there has to be something after. Its not just about surviving, it's got to be about living in the future. They have to show the way for Henry, for Judith, for all the other children who will grow and must live on in this new world.

Great reaction! Carls death was a huge shock when I first seen it

I thought I was the only person not too attached to Carl. It always felt that the main purpose of the character was to provide motivation and purpose for the adults and serve as a catalyst for action. The closest he ever came to being a truly rounded character was when he thought he'd have to shoot Rick and couldn't do it. I preferred his vulnerability to the badass persona.

Count Monte-Cristo

Got it, suggestions. If moderators could include that video in reaction, like they did with cameos, it would be interesting to see Rob and Trins reaction on that performance.

This episode absolutely gutted me the first time I saw it...Carl's death is a crushing blow for me and for the show/Fandom itself. Lots of people decided to leave the show after this. Carl was the heart and soul of this show and it's so tough to deal with the reality of him not being here anymore 💔 🥺😭

Fresh2000

I think carl death was one of the worst decisions of the show, he was the future

Piper

I was shocked and saddened but at the same time it just reinforced the idea that no one was safe in this world. If I didn't quit when Glenn died who was my favorite character, then I sure wasn't going to quit when Carl died.

I forgot how amazing sad this one was. I just remember being so angry they killed him. This time I cried like a baby.

Carl

That last scene of rick sitting on the tree broke me to pieces, it reminded me when Jim died leaning against the tree all the way back in season 1. I assumed rick slit his wrist just like Beth, that's why his hand was bloody. I know Shane is up there losing his freaking mind about Lori and now about Carl, his two biggest motivation are both dead. Rip carl.

The song in the beginning was Bright Eyes- "At the Bottom of Everything". If you like the song you should check out some of their other songs!
