tom cruise actually created that character LMAO!!! he's my fave thing in this movie....his rant to flaming dragon kills me repeatedly. he wanted the large arm prosthetics and just asked he be as GROSS as possible. les grossman

RDJ's role as Kirk Lazarus/Osiris was truly brilliant, precisely because it is a satire/mockery of the pretentious and extreme so-called "method actors".

Love love love this movie. It's a regular around here. The character Tug Speedman was a play on Tom Cruise.

I agree with your appreciation of Tom Cruise in this movie. His popularity was slipping in the mid 2000’s after firing his publicists, behaving erratically and lecturing the public about Scientology. He used this role as a way eating some humble pie and taking himself a little less seriously. As a result I think he gained back some respect from the fans.

Ok, I love this freakin movie. Quote lines from it all the time. I have always hated Tom Cruise as a human. But as an actor he's great. At the time this was done he was still with Katie Holmes and was probably the most normal ever in his life. Like I said great actor, but I can't and will never take him seriously as a human. The dude is bonkers with that Scientology, which I hope I don't offend anyone here but it is absolute bat shit craziness. David Miscavage has blown so much smoke up Tom Cruises' ass that Tom thinks he's some kind of alien God now. This movie is comedy gold, it didn't age well but is still hilarious.

I KNEW you guys would love this movie. This is the comedy I recommended for the last poll. It's my favorite comedy. They ticked ALL the stereotypical, can't go their boxes and I freakin love it. Comedy is being able to laugh at one's self. Today's cancel culture is slowly killing us. Well, not me because I refuse to buy into it and play along. Have fun guys. Be well, Ish from PA, USA.
