Due to the large amount of movies recommended we will have TWO POLLS. The Top 4 winners of this poll will be added to poll 2! Please vote for more than one. 🥰

So many are voting for "Interstellar". Yeah, it has very good visuals and music, but the plot is really stupid, especially if you know anything about science and Earth.

Angelina Sargent

Hahaha I can't believe this. I can't vote on a single movie in your poll... they all are kind of terrible.

Take a Ticket

there will be a second poll, more movies than poll slots so had to split it haha, top 4 on this one will be added to the second.

Angelina Sargent

Thank fucking God. I was worried you were dwindling down the options with every poll. Hahahaha

Chris B

hmm...sorry, nope. As someone who studied physics I can say that Interstellar is actually quite accurate from a scientific standpoint. It touches on many concepts (purposefully vague - don't want to spoil here for Rob and Trin) that of course have not been proven but have wide support amongst theoretical physicists and are grounded in our current knowledge.

Chris B

PS. Kip Thorne (one of the best known theoretical physicists who specializes in gravitational physics and astrophysics) was the science advisor and executive producer for Interstellar. Definitely hard to call it, as you said, "really stupid" ;))

Jack's World

GREEN MILE, BREAKFAST CLUB & INTERSTELLAR :D!!!

RuinFox

these movies are from what we suggested, and in this poll specifically just happen to be the movies that were suggested first from the looks of it, big ouch when you call John Wick "kinda terrible" but i get its not everyones cup of tea 😅 just out of curiosity, what sort of movies were you thinking of suggesting? would love to know your sort of taste for films. (im not trying to wind you up im genuinely curious)

The princess bride?? 🤣🤣 fs we will be doing vamp diaries next 🤣

Anonymous

Despite suggesting "The Big Lebowski", prob the only "fun" on the list, I'm pretty happy with interstellar! Which was on my current Top 5 All time flicks :P

Wendy Sparks

Here we go again with John Wick... great films, yes, but the initial premise will crush R&T. Why won't people take that into consideration?

Scarlett Monrow

Spoilers ahead! Spoilers ahead! Spoilers ahead! Well, I was raised by a nuclear physicist who loves astronomy and my favorite book genre is sci-fi. I don't have a problem with their "voyage". I have a problem with "why" they went. The reason is retarded. A problem with breathing and eating? Hello!? You have oceans! All the air and all the food humanity needs for the next thousand years. But no, the scientists think it's too difficult - lets all 6-7 billion of us leave the planet - that's easier - right? Makes it difficult to feel of the characters when you remember why all of this is happening.

Chris B

The main premise of Interstellar is that blight is causing the devastation of plant life on earth. Not only editable crops but plant life - grasslands, forests etc. This causes less and less oxygen in the atmosphere. As Dr. Brand said - "the last to starve will be the first to suffocate". No food, no oxygen. A change of atmosphere like this would also have massive influence over the weather, causing a more and more inhospitable environment. No food. No oxygen. Dead sea life. Hurricanes, tornadoes, dust storms worldwide. Yes, the blight is a plot device to leave earth, but not an illogical one.

Scarlett Monrow

Ocean produces over 60% of all oxygen, so even if all land plants die - it will take a while for the atmosphere to stop supporting human life. Oceans can be farmed for food - vegetable and animal, just as well as fields. Just tell me one thing: honestly, what do you think is easier, cheaper and quicker 1) To build large domes/underground bunkers with filtered air and oxygen produced from water; to have metals and minerals available for mining; to harvest algae, plankton, fish and sea plants for food and create a place where people can live normally and continue to work on solving the problem and restoring the planet. OR 2) To take all 6-7 billion people to move them via spaceships (!) to another solar system. But not just them, they also need food, medicine, shelter, air, gravity, building materials and some sort of acceptable living space so people don't go nuts. Also, people have to give up on our home planet and just let it die.

Kim Magee

Omg the john wick movies go so far beyond that one plot point, rob and trin will like the whole plot, it's so clever

Kim Magee

Really hoping rocky horror gets in, wanna see reaction to Tim Curry sing sweet transvestite

Kim Magee

Rob and trin if rocky horror don't make it, could you at some point react to the clip of sweet transvestite, Tim Curry was amazing before his stroke and now wheel chair bound but voicing characters now

Wendy Sparks

I know that. But that will totally haunt them. I personally won't watch that beginning... and then enjoy the rest of John Wick. Check out their reaction to the end of Bates Motel, episode 7.... it upset them so, so much... even lingered to the next episode.

Chris B

Mhm. I understand where you're coming from with the oxygen from the ocean. I see this as a plot device (it's the first 15 min of the film) and excuse to explore the wormhole, time relativity concepts etc. To be honest, I loved the movie so I'm not going to complain about this premise. I understand that you're choosing to dissect it in this manner because you didn't enjoy the rest of the movie either? That's fair. Btw. I don't have any knowledge on how long the amount of oxygen in the ocean could sustain the human race (probably somewhat a thousand or a couple thousand years?) but if we're talking about a movie premise which includes the devastation of all plants, for my own piece of mind I will assume it affected algae too (yeah, yeah, not a plant). I will choose to believe that (in the confines of this movie) whatever means of surviving on earth were always going to be temporary and eventually leaving earth, inevitable ;)

Jen G.

Terrible? Even if you don’t like them, that’s a huge stretch. What’s a movie you’d consider to be great?

Jen G.

Glad to see some love for No Country For Old Men. It’s EASILY in my top 10 films of all time.

Angelina Sargent

All of these movies are blah. I think I've watched at least half of them and I truly can't tell you a single ones ending because I either stopped watching them or got bored and forgot. I have seen so many good movies recently and I'm excited to see the next polls list. Lol

Anaya Imari

Wow, I’m surprised Seven Pounds is on here. Sadly it’s not getting many votes 😂but I’m a sucker for Breakfast Club!!😁😁😁

Sean Murphy

So what are good movies in your opinion that you can get to the end with?

Sean Murphy

The scientific contributions of Caltech professor Kip Thorne helped write this movie. It is the most scientifically accurate film ever made. With the exception of the leap in the plot later. I suppose if Star Wars was on here it would be fine? lol Besides all that, it's actually about a father, family, and humanity.

Bassorelli Chiara

Interstellar is so beautiful, I hope you react to it!

Scarlett Monrow

"most scientifically accurate film ever made" - please! As I said, I don't have a problem with their travels, but I do have a big problem with the reason why they traveled. You might want to read "20,000 leagues under the sea" by Jules Vern or "Underwater Farmers" by Belayev. Also, do some simple calculation of how much water is in the oceans and how much pure oxygen can be made from it. Also, check out movie "Aliens" - they showed a way of dealing with bad atmosphere on the planet. The plot of Interstellar is ridiculous and sloppy. Maybe instead of spend so much time on "space adventure", the writers could have come up with a plausible "threat" that would truly require Earth's evacuation.
