The old man at the Night's Watch, wasn't called Aegon, he was Aemon. And yes he was a Targaryen and heir, but renounced his position. The events of this series happen some 200 years back from the events of the main GoT. So we won't see any characters in this series that will feature in the main GoT (unless it's some Richard-like character who doesn't age, lol).

this Aegon is, I believe, the 2nd (if he becomes king). The Conqueror was the first one, who established the Targaryen dynasty.
