As someone else already mentioned: the idea of humans evolving to a higher plane of existence, or consciousness, is a popular concept in sci fi. Call it ascension, or transcendance. In my view, the idea of it & Bill's approach to it are two separate things. One may be right while still being very wrong. I trust in Becca. She went into the glow and came back really freaked out.
