Great reactions to a great movie! Something that always tickles me, and no one ever catches/notices/mentions is Andy kept his rock hammer hidden in the Bible, correct? The place where he hid it is in “Exodus”, the telling of the Hebrews escaping bondage in Egypt. Trin was almost correct when she said she expected the movie to end with the bus and Red’s narration. Originally, that was going to be the ending. After it was screened for the studio, they said, “You can’t end it like that. The audience deserves to see Andy and Red together at the end.” So, Darabont came up with the beach scene, where no words were spoken. Just the two men smiling and from a distance you see them embrace. The reason the movie didn’t do as well as it should have at the box office is because the studio didn’t know how to market it.

An epic classic. One of my favorite movies for years. It has so much heart. I wish they still made movies like this.
