Caunte "requisitioning" Ketil's farm goes back to what the old master was saying (can't remember exactly what episode) which was something along the line of, "My son doesn't realize how pointless it is to gain a massive amount of wealth to the point where he fears losing it, so he spends a large sum of his wealth for protection in order to not lose the wealth he has." It really is just a viscous cycle, especially in these times.
