Very excited for you to react to the rest of this amazing anime. As for the anime it's self, it's surprisingly historically accurate. Many of the events and people you'll come across are real. Leif Erickson is the first character we see that actually existed. Leif Erickson was known for discovering North America and parts of Canada, which they named Vinland, in (roughly) 1000 A.D. just under 500 years before Christopher Columbus. That being said, since this anime is historically accurate it does a great job of portraying the way of life at the time, which means that at certain points this anime will make you uncomfortable, but it will also give you an amazing and moving storyline. Since you asked about after credit scenes, there are none this season so don't be on the lookout for them.
