My dad's family faced oppression from McCarthy as they were russian Jewish refugees in New York, they had a cafe which McCarthy took away from them, because they were left wing, my dad was a child experiencing these events and his family being questioned in the way that's portrayed here

My family were not allowed to find work again during McCarthy

At the start of the video, you were talking about sound recording levels. Maybe check the software you are using to record the audio and see if it has a compressor/limiter setting. Or if you can download and add it as an add on the software. Then in addition to setting your normal audio recording level, you can set also set an audio threshold level in the limiter settings that is a maximum you want. Then play and test the settings so that instead of the sound peaking with loud shrills of excitement, it will limit the sound to the threshold that you set. This could be an easy way to control the maximum sound level to avoid it peaking. NB You will need to do this when recording the audio rather than in post production when editing the video. Hope that helps.

Have watched these reactions many times over and it kinda intrigues me that no one has really picked up - or at least commented - on the fact that Hawk didn’t actually get Tim the cufflinks. He simply took them off a shelf in his closet, looked at them for a moment, then went to his safe to get the McCarthy “evidence”. Maybe that’s sweet because its something of his he knows Tim will cherish? Maybe its to help w the sting of the “favor” he immediately asks for? Who knows?🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes I caught that. Hawk treats Tim like sh*t and Tim let's him do it! While this show is well written and acted, it fails as a love story.

Having lived through the 80s as a bisexual and having many gay friends it was still frowned upon to show any affection in public even just holding hands or kissing was really frowned on . There was still alot of prejudice even in the 80s & 90s I suffered alot when I came out in the late 80s.

OMG PA-LEASE make a montage of all of Josh's clothing, vehicle, and architectural call outs against all of Alex's reactions to the same scenes, it would be hilarious!! We're all here for it.
