Do you think animals get asmr?

Please excuse my attire! These pants I bought in Cornwall last year and they are SO comfortable! With the shirt and plant in the foreground it looks like I’m on some sort of spiritual safari 🤣

I don't think animals experience ASMR in the same way, I think they are sufficiently different to make it hard to compare in this level of detail. I think they obviously have sensations they enjoy though, even if they are different from the ones humans enjoy. Cows, for example seem to enjoy fairly vigorous beishinf of their head/neck. Dogs seem to enjoy fairly vigorous petting, I coudonf on their bellies. Cats usually hate belly rubs, and tend to prefer less vigorous petting, and enjoy it particularly on their head between their ears, their ears, and their neck, as well as the spot at the base of their tail. I think all animals enjoy different sensations, and at least for cats, they seem somewhat like ASMR, but I don't think it is quite the same. I am a cat man personally, so I only know much about cats, but they definitely love the right petting, and they have anticipatory pleasure at imagining certain things too - this is most obvious when they are watching birds. They are complex and do enjoy some things in a similar way, but I don't think it is exactly ASMR.
