Preparing for a Blitzkrieg

"What about those wyverns and dragons?"

"They're used by puppet sorcerers, aren't they? Then we should target the sorcerer..."

"From the information I have obtained, there are not many of them because of compatibility with the target they control and the amount of magic they possess. Hence, the number is known."

And then, the discussion moves on to the next topic. Although they understand the threat of the black jade, the topic was not about how to get it. So, the understanding of its usefulness has not yet been established.

With gunpowder, we could mine by blasting as well as create guns and bombs. It would be possible to create modern traps, and depending on how a person approaches it, it could be used in a variety of ways.

As I was listening to the content of the meeting with these thoughts in mind, His Majesty glanced over at me.

"...So, that's our route of march, Baron Van. What do you think?"

Saying that, His Majesty asked for our opinion. I noticed that the conversation seemed to have shifted from the opponent's war potential to the march. I cleared my throat and answered.

"This battle is a surprise attack, so to speak. First, the priority is to send the knights to Jiernetta's territory through the mountain road as originally planned. However, because this mountain road is narrow and long, there will be a high risk of being attacked by demon beasts during the march if there is a large number of people."

I continued.

"So, the important thing is to set up a safe base temporarily in the middle of the mountain road. And for quick and safe transportation, we recommend the armored horse-drawn war wagons sold by the Bellrango Chamber of Commerce. Now, I will also lend you some of my ballistas for free, so you can bring them straight into the fight against Jiernetta."

Saying this, the King looks at everyone's faces. Then His Majesty and Panamera burst into laughter together.

"Hahaha! And by the way, I didn't know you were going to be a merchant!"

"The boy will be a great merchant, isn't he?"

They laughed at me, but Jalpa, aka Daddy, became crestfallen and exhaled. Then, when they broke off the conversation, Venturi interjected for confirmation.

"There is a fort in Jiernetta's territory in the form of a blockade on the mountain road, but can we trust the information from the enemy royalty for our operation?"

He seemed concerned that the information obtained from Unimog might be false. To this, the other nobles nodded.

However, His Majesty responded to their concerns with a wry smile.

"Rest assured. He was a man who lacked brains, but I have made sure to make him speak. I cannot lie."

When His Majesty said this, some of them changed complexion, while others nodded their heads in agreement. His Majesty's interrogation may have a well-established reputation in many ways.

Incidentally, Freightliner has been cooperative from the beginning and is now receiving civilian education from Espada since he wants to live permanently in Seat Village.

"So, first thing, we will buy that armored carriage from Baron Van and go into the mountain road to make a base. Since it is quite a distance, we will set up our bases in three places."

Saying this, His Majesty explains the locations of the bases on the map spread out on the round table.

"It seems that when Jiernetta's army passed through, they advanced with the wyverns to keep the monsters away, but we cannot use that method. Therefore, we need multiple strongholds within a short distance that are sturdy. For that, we will need the cooperation of adventurers who are good at navigating mountain roads."

His Majesty said, and pointed to the potential bases he had created on the map.

"Next, as for the base, I think I will ask for Baron Van's help with this. I want you to prepare a base that can be assembled as quickly as possible on site and that will not be destroyed even if it is attacked by a large magical beast."

At these words, everyone's eyes turned toward us.

This is strange. Suddenly, I was given a task. It's a pretty impossible task. But there is a man who can make it possible. Van, everyone's idol.

"By your will, Your Majesty."

When I immediately responded, some of them looked surprised. Hmmm. I'm going to have to make something interesting out of this. Let's make everyone go aghast.

And so, after only about 30 minutes, the military meeting was over. It was as if His Majesty had said, "I will do this," and everyone was talking about how to make it happen. It seems that no one can say no to His Majesty's words.

Or maybe that is normal in the case of the monarchy.

First, I am thinking about the bases that can be easily built. The relationship between the King and the Nobles is not relevant right now. How to build an easy and sturdy base is what I am thinking about.
