The King was Amazed

He appears to be of a reasonable age, but he is full of strength.

I had such an impression when I saw King Dino.

Incidentally, Marquis Aperta, the Prime Minister, who was standing behind him, was thin and looked mean. For some reason, he kept smiling at me, which scared me.

And one more person. He is a beautiful boy who looks like he might be an elf. The boy, who looks around curiously, is clearly of Dino descent. His name is Pista En Zola Berlinetta.

A prince. Damn, he would look good on a white horse.

With this thought in mind, I quickly walked with the king, who asked me to show him around the village.

The first thing we see is the Origo Tower, the observation tower at the entrance to the village of Seat.

"It's pretty high."

"It's quite high," the king replied, "and the high altitude makes it convenient for getting a full view of the village.

The king replied, "I see," and silently followed us. The four men accompanying us were Aperta, Pista, a strong-looking man who looked like the captain of the guard of honor, and Panamera.

Espada was not physically strong enough to climb the tower, so I had him stand by.

After climbing up the tower, we arrived at the observatory, where we could see a wide view of the area. It was a clear day with almost no clouds. We could see roads and meadows, forests and a majestic mountain range in the distance.

And then there was the newly built adventurer's town. The rest is a beautiful star-shaped wall and a square fortified city in the center. In the back is the lake where Apkallu lives.

Looking at it again like this, it seems surprisingly viable as a tourist destination.

Hmmm...shall I introduce it to King Dino as a tourist attraction?

"Well, the small village you can see from here is Seat Village, where I initially became a lord. When I first came here, it was just a wooden fence and a few battered houses, but now it has a reasonable defense. The walls, gates, and moat are the key to our defense, and the ballista we set up on top of the walls is the key to our attack."

"Ballistas, huh? There are places where they are installed in castles and forts, which are the bases of defense. But I don't think they are that useful."

Aperta, who is as exhausted as I am, agrees with King Dino.

"Yes, it is. The ballista is designed to attack an opponent of a certain distance and size, and the time it takes to prepare for the next shot after firing is negligibly slow. It is not something that is easy to handle."

Despite their negative opinions, King Dino and Aperta looked at us as if they were watching something interesting.

What are you expecting?

"...So, let's give it a try."

With that preface, I look down at the ramparts.

"Bora-san! Take a shot at the forest!"

I instructed, and Bora, who was on top of the castle wall, responded by raising his fist in the air.

Then, Bora fires two arrows in quick succession toward the forest. The arrows rang out with a firing sound that could be heard up here and a sound that cut through the wind, and the arrows again cut down the trees in the forest in a messy manner.

Several large trees fall, and the earth echoes.

To say the least, it was a very subdued scene. It would have been more appealing if an armored lizard or something had come along, but that was not going to happen.

I thought so, but surprisingly, the gallery was excited.

"...Indeed, it's phenomenal power and distance. And I didn't expect you to shoot two shots in a row."

"This is interesting. It's astonishing that you can make that many attacks without relying on a first-rate bowman or magician, sir."

The two of them get excited. Incidentally, Pista is also very pleased with the view of the city walls and the ballista.

Okay, we have a good grasp of the situation.

"So, what else do we have?"

"What else?"

I asked him.

That's about the defense of the village. There is nothing else.
