Finally, the Envoy

I held a barbecue party with Arte's puppet dance as a snack.

Where did my initial confusion and fear go?

Everyone was enjoying their meal while watching the puppets dancing on the improvised stage.

The puppets danced beautifully on the stage lit by bonfires on all sides.

Arte also made the dolls dance happily.

"Is your magic okay? "

I asked, and Arte nodded with a radiant smile despite the sweat on her forehead.

"I'm fine, it's as easy as manipulating paper compared to move the Mithril puppet."

Arte answered excitedly, and sure enough, the doll was moving around dynamically.

"Is it the material? If it was difficult because it's metal, maybe the high specific gravity makes it difficult for magic to pass through? "

The questions keep coming up.

But for now, I'll just be happy that Arte is happy.

I would feel sorry for Arte if I didn't end this day on a high note.

With that in mind, I talked about things that would make Arte happy, and we laughed until late into the night.

The next day, as the residents, over-excited, tired, and alcoholic, were slowly making their way to work, a report came in from one of the villagers watching the street: "Van-sama!

"Van-sama! There's some kind of awesome carriage coming!"

"A great carriage? "

Tilting his head, Ortho's group happened to be passing by and turned around.

"Ah, isn't that a messenger from Royal Capital? This time it was a little late, but normally, when there is a dragon slaying, they would send a messenger immediately to check on the situation."

As Ortho says this, Pluriel opens his mouth.

"Oh, Van-sama has been made a baron, so maybe there were procedures to prepare that letter or something."

"And there's also the confirmation of the Dungeon."

That's a lot of stuff.

"I see. Then it doesn't sound like you're here in a bad way."

As I nodded and muttered to myself, Ortho and the others raised one hand with a wry smile.

"This looks kind of interesting, can we watch too? "

"Oh, you think it's funny? Well, it's okay."

I didn't understand what Ortho was saying, but I agreed.

The villagers and adventurers who were listening to the exchange looked interested.

"What is it? "

"It's Van-sama's knighting ceremony."

"Van-sama, what's it going to be?

A baron.

"Van-sama, isn't that a marquess? "

"Van-sama is not a marquess."

Everyone starts talking at a fairly loud volume, and I growl to myself.

Those guys have lost their discretion lately. I'm fine with it, but if they were dealing with regular nobles, they'd be really pissed off.

"Van-sama, when you become a baron, will you have a barbecue party? "

"Isn't it great in the morning!"

Some adventurers started to get excited with barbecue talk on their own. Free men.

"Even if we do it, it'll be at night."

I answered with a sigh, and the adventurers jumped for joy.

"Yes!"

"Van-sama, I'll get a net for grilling meat!"

"Prepare the coals! Where are the coals?"

It's too early!

I tried to rush into the noisy adventurers, but they didn't hear me at all.

The adventurers' shouts cause the villagers to join in and begin preparations. I watch as nets, charcoal, and liquor barrels are lined up, and I give up.

No good. They are meat-burner addicts, BBQ junkies. Maybe I should build a rehabilitation facility. A place where the only food is fruits and vegetables.

While I was thinking about that, the carriage arrived in the village.

Apparently, there is a royal crest on the side of the carriage, so I had no choice but to go to the entrance of the village to meet them.

Since the star-shaped wall is already completed, I only have to go to its main gate. Incidentally, the Ballista has yet to incorporate a continuous-fire mechanism, and remains a double-barrel type.

"Van-sama, I think it would be better to take all my men with me..."
