Bear King

"What the heck is that? That's the bear from the picture book! Is that the bear from the picture book?

"Whoa, whoa, whoa...I thought he was a little smaller in the picture book..."

"It's not just a little bit smaller!"

Jeanette, Ferris, and Alicia are in a panic.

When they found the book in the attic, the bears in the book were just nuggets big enough to be held by a girl, so they did not expect to see such huge bears in the book.

"Hmm? What is it? You guys. Are you new here? Have you come to be my servants?"

The bear looked down at Ferris and the others, drool dripping from his large jaws.

"A servant...?"

Ferris asked in a shaky voice.

"Yes, I am. A servant who tries his best to think of funny things for me and make me laugh! I'm a 'happy Kuma-san,' so I have to laugh all the time!"

"Oh, by the way... that's the title of this picture book, isn't it?"

Alicia recalls with a finger to her mouth.

"Tsumari! You guys have to make me laugh! If you can't, you're executed! That's what a servant is !!!!."

"That's no servant! That's outrageous!"

"Shut up, shut up, shut up! I'm a Kuma-san! I'll do this to anyone who doesn't listen to me!

The bear stepped down on Ferris and the others with its massive forelimb.

"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!?"

The three girls' screams echoed.

Just before the forelimb was about to crush Ferris and the others, it stopped with a snap.

"Huh? You...could it be...?"

I got down on all fours and looked into Alicia's face.

Immediately, the corners of the bear's mouth lifted as his jaws parted.

"Wow! I knew it! I knew it! It's Leticia! I finally met Letitia! I'm squeezing her so hard! My insides are going to explode! HEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"

It tries to pinch Alicia between its two huge forelimbs while screaming something too noisy.

"No, no, no, Alicia-san will be crushed!"

Ferris stood in front of Alicia with his arms outstretched.

"Jamma! Anyone who gets in the way of me and Leticia is going to be crushed!"

The bear angrily slammed its paw into Ferris.

A moment later, a dome-shaped wall appeared around Ferris and collided with the bear's forelimb.

"Is this... a magic ward...?"

Alicia, protected by Ferris, blinked.

The bear bites down on its sharply pointed fangs.

"It's a lie...there is no one in this world who can use magic...this is my world...no one can use magic without my permission! No magician, no matter how powerful, can do it!"

"Too bad! Unfortunately, Ferris is not like most magicians, you know? He's a very, very strong boy!

Jeanette puffed out her chest.

"Why is Jeanette so proud of herself?"

"I don't care! I feel like a parent watching over my child!

Jeanette's face turns bright red when Alicia interrupts her.

Jeanette-san is my mother? Is Jeanette-san my mother?

Her dull eyes trembled as she stared at Ferris, and Jeanette's heart fluttered in her chest.

"Oh, my God, he's so cute! Oh, my God, he's so cute! I can't stand it any longer!"

Unexpectedly, Jeanette hugs Ferris as tight as she can.

"Huh! You're crushing me!"

Ferris let out a pathetic scream of embarrassment and joy.

"You guys! Don't ignore me!!!"

Left behind by the girls who were getting excited on their own, the bear complained.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I'm not ignoring you!"

"You don't have to apologize so ritually, Ferris."

Alicia pats Ferris on the shoulder.

The bear's eyes are red and glazed with indignation, whether the apology is effective or not.

"You can't ignore me! You can't ignore me! Because I miss you when you ignore me! You're a distraction! Anyone who gets in the way of me and Leticia, get lost!"

"Hyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?"

A magic circle appeared beneath Ferris and Alicia's feet.

Their figures were enveloped in a dazzling light, and their outlines faded.

Immediately after, the two disappeared from the fairy-tale place and were transported to a dimly lit place.

"This place..."

Alicia rolls her eyes and looks around.

"Yaneura, beya, right...?"

Yes, they had returned to their original attic.

A picture book of "Happy Kuma-san" is lying nearby. The bear on the cover was originally smiling, but now he was dressed menacingly with his front paws raised.

And - it was good to be back, but there was one problem.

"Jeanette-san, where are you...?"

Ferris mumbled fearfully.

Meanwhile, at the castle in the storybook.

"Oh, no...? Did they put Letitia back outside with it?"

The huge, ferocious bear tilted its head.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! Why am I the only one left behind?

Jeanette was in tears as she was left behind.

"Oh well, what's done is done! You can take Leticia's place from now on!!!!"

"It's not good!!! !!!!"

Jeanette's screams echoed through the castle's outer yard.
