I think as long as it's done respectfully, it'd be appreciated. Especially if you ask one or two folks who you know have background from that religion to make sure it's not going to go into anything awful, it'd be welcomed. I think you've got a good eye for parody and appreciation in your artwork - not many other weeb artists even know what the Pieta is, let alone would attempt to render their own version of it - to put forth a tasteful portrayal that'd extend a gratifying identity shout-out. Hell, I'm 100% Jewish and really like this illustration - it's a very good example of joy and friendship and fellowship. They're getting value and happiness from a religion, as opposed from Bible-thumping or being discriminatory over it.
