Just a reminder gents, this method can not only hurt you, but be detrimental to the injury. Get tweezers, pluck and stingers you can see, soak in warm water NOT HOT, warm. Then i think hydrocortisone can be helpful.

Jellyfish toxins can be inactivated by heat. So can stingray. One time I got stabbed clean through my right foot by a sting ray, the barbs are neutralized by hot water but will reactivate if you don’t soak it long enough. I’m sure there’s better treatment but due to not having anything on hand - it helped significantly. I kinda deserved it tho, I accidentally stepped on the poor guy’s face and when it stabbed me, it felt like a crab pinched my foot and let go, I immediately swam as fast as I could to the shore thinking it will go for round two. You know those crustaceans, man!

That depends on the sting, anti-inflammatories can actually trigger some species’ stingers, it’s best to just pursue the manual methods you mentioned unless the victim is going into anyphalaxis/shock, in which case epinephrine can be used. It’s best to leave the pharmacology to the hospital unless they are in immediate danger.

I was actually referring to Irukandji, Manowars are actually siphonophores, which are a super colony of smaller organisms, jellyfish are singular organisms. But yes, manowars are absolutely awful, and can very easily kill you.
