Alright, so free reign on type of character and dripping with sin... let's use this as an opportunity to give some love to our less popular characters!

I deleted my first comment because I was worried I came off rude. But I've been seeing recently that with each poll, Mars picks is always the most chosen and, if that's the trend, maybe it shouldn't be a part of the polls anymore? We obviously love when you pick, and you can release audios you want to make whenever you like! But the polls were something I thought I got a choice in once a month, and I've lost that choice a few times now in a row. I may be the only one feeling like that, and if I am please someone humble me, I don't want to be rude. I'm just a little sad to feel my choice is gone.

i've been treating the mars gets to pick option as an "other", like if none of the options are appealing :) it's been an option since the beginning and has only won three times ever, so i wouldn't feel too bad about it "always" being chosen!

Honestly I think that’s fair. Maybe it shouldn’t be part of every poll at the very least. I also think that the most popular choices in polls should probably be eliminated (for the next poll) so maybe for the next audio the second most can get their time to shine. A lot of the most popular choices are some of the most basic and common in audios in general and if I’m gonna be paying 25$ a month to have the opportunity to vote then I want to be able to explore niches!

Kinda also not wanting Mars picks to be an option every time? No shade, just really doesn't feel like the polls have much of a purpose this way other than teasing what could have been. Not that I don't trust Mars or the team, but if the 25 audio is going to always be a surprise, I'd rather not have the illusion of choice and just wait for the audio to be released, if that makes sense?

Sure but you’ve also proven my point a little bit with this most recent poll. You’ve taken away the most popular choices to “use this as an opportunity to give some love to our less popular characters!” But I think that the popular choices on type of audio should maybe get the same treatment. As for the “mars picks” option- I think it’s pretty fun and chaotic (personally I’ve picked it several times) but I also know how awkward can be to speak up even with a veil of anonymity like on patreon. Julian just wanted to express an opinion and concern they have and I, while not completely agreeing, did want to support and validate someone who went out of their way to calmly share an opinion.

We haven't had two of the same audio on the 25 tier yet, and we change up the options every time. If we put every character in every poll, guarantee that 90% of the audios would be Rengoku, Giyuu, L, Tengen, Bakugou... They're popular for a reason, and we use polls to gauge what this tier would like. Unfortunately for people, like yourself, who don't want to see the "most basic and common" characters, the very nature of a poll will always lend itself to the most popular fandoms and characters. With 100% certainty, the most popular character will always win a poll. That's how that works. If you want to see a less popular character, that's why we have the "other"/Mars gets to pick choice, or you can commission us

No worries, I didn’t take it as disrespectful :) I just want everyone to understand that unfortunately, yes, popular characters are always going to win because that’s how polls work, unless we put a wildcard in there. That’s sort of how we were using the “mars gets to pick” option. So it’s totally fair to get rid of the wildcard option— I already did that for this poll— but it does mean that we’re going to be back to always having popular character audios :)

Ok this seems to be getting a bit heated somehow. I really was trying to pull focus on type of audio or even kinks it’s written geared towards vs the character like you seem to have focused on. I specifically said type of audio and neither the op Julian or myself specifically mentioned characters. This is getting a bit out of hand- I don’t think anyone was trying to start a fight or upset anyone.

It's pretty easy to tell like you pointed out how popular characters like Tengen, Rengoku, Bakugou, and otherwise would always be chosen if put in a poll with others and it would basically void those other options.. Maybe have the popular characters in one poll occasionally and we can all vote for which one wins that round? So that way there's no oversaturation of the same characters

if we aren’t talking about character polls then I’m not sure what the problem is! Mars gets to pick hasn’t been picked for a non-character centered poll. And most of our listeners are submissive and lean vanilla, so that same motion of popular/safe choices will always win is true for kinks as well.

And I love it! Totally understand keeping them seperate or we'd be hearing the same VA all the time, or on the flip side, the characters would all be tops/doms and we'd get no submissive/bottom audios 😭

You’re right that “mars gets to pick” only wins for character polls but again neither characters or the “mars gets to pick option” were my primary concern (as opposed to op Julien in regards to the mars option). A half argument in a semi public setting isn’t and will never be something I have interest in dragging out. Julien’s happy it seems and any point I tried to make was secondary to trying to help validate someone who went so far as to tone down a legitimate concern/opinion they had. Glad things got worked out/talked through 🤷👍

I think maybe my comment was misconstrued or made things worse...I'm at work so my focus isn't too great atm. my point wasn't meant to be that a wildcard isn't fair or anything or that less popular options shouldn't be given a chance. I guess I was assuming that Mars et al could still have control over making sure we still have variety by curating the available options in the poll, like with this one only listing characters we haven't heard from on here yet. Because Mars has a point, the majority will always be voting for certain characters, but I think when those characters are absent from the polls then the majority is reliably going to swing to the Mars picks option because they're automatically not invested. Makes it feel like it's not really choice, we just know for sure we won't be seeing any character actually listed as an option. Which isn't a big problem for me, I'd be 100% happy with no choice and it always being Mars who picks, it works pretty consistently great for me with the other nonpoll audios. So like it's not a true complaint from me if I didn't make it clear, not going to lose me or anything like that, but you'd probably just lose my engagement on at least character polls because I wouldn't really see the point? Maybe we could have a poll to decide what the majority thinks about the option and how frequently it appears? I don't know, my intention isn't to tell anyone how to do their job or take away fun. Sorry if it came off that way or contributed to discourse. I'm just an opinionated btch sometimes, but it doesn't mean I'm under any delusions that my opinions are correct or even popular.
