The plot takes a turn when Newlyn wakes up strapped to a vac-rack where he finally means his first living creature since putting on the suit, though as he talks to the doctor he gains the information that this all might not be a mistake after all... though as they begin the process of mental conditioning it might not matter to him anyway.
