I've worked a bit on the first new seagull mod this weekend and it didn't go that smooth as I hoped it to be.

Finding the right VFX
First I had to find the right vfx of seagulls flying in, standing there for some time and after that flying away again. There were multiple of these vfx to be found, the only problem though is that I discovered that a lot of those vfx won't re-appear after simply leaving the lot or the game. Which is very annoying. After a lot of trial and error, I did finally found a vfx that will keep appearing luckely. :)

Invisible Object Size
As the object spawning this vfx is once again invisible, I've made sure to make it easier to find it back after placement, by making the object have a footprint size of 1x4 (image). Other ways to find it back is simply waiting for the seagulls to appear or searching for it in build mode by hovering the clone tool over the terrain until the object's name appears. Then switch to the grab tool by hitting 'H' and picking it up to replace or delete it.

The object being invisible, doesn't mean Sims will walk straight through the seagulls. In this case I made it so Sims will walk around the entire 1x4 object.

Seagulls VFX Placement
The 3 seagulls appearing with this object will not always land on the exact same spot, but will always land somewhere on this 1x4 object.  Occasionally 2 of them DO land on exact the same spot, but there's nothing I can change about this unfortunatly. On the other hand, it doesn't happen that often. If the former doesn't happen, they will always land in a row, so placing this object on a fence or wall will work perfectly.
Another thing to keep in mind is that they both fly in from the front of the object, as well as the back.

VFX in Images
Later this week I will try to make an image which I can both use for the thumbnail as well as for you, to show how this vfx of a seagull flying in and out looks.
