Switching to "Charge Up front" method of payment! (Patreon)
Content
Like the title already says, I will be changing my method of payment to "Charge Up front" by the end of this week.
What this means, is that New Patrons that will join after that date, will be charged immediately after choosing a certain pledge tier. After that initial month, they will be charged on the 1st of each month following just like it is now for my current Patrons.
Example:
A patron joins my Patreon community on July 25th for $3 per month. They will be charged $3 on the day they join, July 25th, for July patronage. On August 1st, the Patron will be charged $3 for August patronage.
If you increase your pledge (say from $1 to $3), you will be charged with the difference, and then for the amount of your current pledge at the beginning of the next month.
Example: on July 25th, someone increases their pledge from $1 to $3. They are charged $2 on July 25th to make up the difference. If their pledge extends into August, they will be charged $3 on the 1st of the month.
Existing Pledges will be charged on the 1st of the month. No real changes there. Anyone who is pledging before the end of the upcoming week, will not be charged until August 1st.
I wasn't able to use this method before. Right now, if somebody decides to support my work, you won't be charged until the first of the upcoming month. (This wasn't clear for everybody as not every Patreon Creator uses the same method of payment)
THE REASONS FOR THIS CHANGE:
1. Prevents people from pledging, looking/downloading the content they want, and then immediately cancelling their pledge without being charged. (I can just paste the link to the updated mods in a post, rather then sending everyone a link in a Personal Message)
2. Eliminates the need to not release certain things or release certain things later, because everyone who is viewing a post has already paid for it. This means I will be more willing to share early access mods for testing.
