UPDATE: We are LIVE!

Hey everyone!

We'll be doing our Platinum livestream on Sunday again this week :)

We're going to do something a bit different for this livestream. One of our friends here, Pauline, came up with the idea of doing a "Debut" livestream. The idea is essentially to watch/listen to a bunch of different artists' debut songs that we've covered on this channel. Kind of a cool way to see where they started and how far they've come.

Pauline was kind enough to put together a full list of everyone's debut music video (from SHINee in 2008 to Enhypen in 2020). I think it could be cool to throw in a few debut performances in there as well (i.e instead of a 5 Seconds of Summer debut MV, we can watch their debut song being performed. I can sort of feel it out as the livestream goes on/in the comments.

Note: The list does not include solo artists (like Taylor Swift or Aurora), only groups (i.e.1D, including artists like Mamamoo & Got7 who I've only reacted to a few times). f there's a group that's brought you to my Patreon, we'll be checking them out on Sunday. Also, if there's interest in solo artists that I've covered, PLEASE let me know in the comments!

Cool! Looking forward to this. Hoping you can join on Sunday. And thanks to you  Pauline for the inspiration/helping out with this!

Details:
Day/Time: Sunday, November 20th @ 12:30pm EST

I don't know how the list looks right now but if I could list the ones that I like it would be BTOB: Insane (I know you have never reacted to them, but you should. They really do battle Seventeen in family and craziness😉) BTS: No More Dream Mamamoo: Mr. Ambiguous Seventeen: Adore U Astro: Hide&Seek (Not my favorite song but I do love these guys! Just like BTOB they battle Seventeen when it comes to family and craziness, especially in verity show settings like 'Astro Zone' plus they are really good friends with Seventeen, especially Seunkwang and Moonbin if I don't remember wrong) Blackpink: BOOMAYAH SF9: Fanfare (Another group you have never reacted to but I think they are underrated in my opinion and I really do believe they deserve more reactions) Stray Kids: Hellevator (Pre debut song)/District 9 (debut song) ATEEZ: Pirate King ONEUS: Valkyrie (Another group you haven't seen but I think you should, very underrated) TXT: CROWN ONEWE: Reminisce about All (Yes, they are the brother group of ONEUS but I thought that if you ever wanted to go into a K-band instead of a K-group, I really do like ONEWE) Lucy: Flowering (I only started to follow these guys recently but I like their music and they're another band if you ever wanna get into them) Enhypen: Given-Taken Kep1er: WA DA DA (Another group you have never reacted to but I really like them and member Huening Bahiyyih is the little sister of TXT's Huening Kai. Thought it would be fun to extend the Huening family. They also are just a temporary group so they only exist for 2.5 years before they disband) Tempest: Bad News (Another group you haven't watched but they debuted this year and I think they are very unknown or underrated by a lot of people plus one of the members, Hanbin, almost ended up debuting in Enhypen so I thought you should know about them) Sorry for so much text, it becomes like that when you follow 16 groups😅 But I do hope that you react to at least a few of them and maybe find someone that you haven't reacted to before. Can't wait for the live! (PS. I also put them in order of debut to hopefully make it easier for you😊)

great list! I'd like to add GOT7's girls girls girls! People were very divided on the song back in 2014 so I'd love to see your reaction!

Sounds fun! :) Looking forward to it!

Since you already mentioned 5sos: Their first ever gig on Dec 3rd 2011 (Ashton hadn't even officially joined the band yet) https://youtu.be/xMtGeahM0_c It's certainly something... Teenage Dirtbag (live cover) https://youtu.be/iCye8dDeyhk It was the first song featuring the 4 of them, right after Ashton joined the band, that they uploaded on their YT channel in 2011 Gotta Get Out (live) https://youtu.be/ucT1uhITmCs Their first original song, written by Calum in music class Out Of My Limit (MV) https://youtu.be/N0V8BflCpvU Their first official music video. They sound so Aussie in this Don't Stop (MV) https://youtu.be/MKfzMOC19Fc Since you already heard She Looks So Perfect (I think?), this is their second like professionally filmed music video. They hate this song btw and the acoustic version even more

I'd really love some BTOB reactions too. They're definitely one of my fav 2.5 gen groups! Full of talent and comedy. Also, technically Ateez debuted with both Pirate King and Treasure (the start of Ateez's double title tracks tradition). Treasure is technically the official one, but Pirate King is the only one they got to promote. So I guess it could be one or the other.

Elina

I have never understood the double title track thing, could you explain to me?

these are all really great, but my vote goes to “gotta get out”, i’m fell in love with that song after they did it on the 10year anniversary show🥹

This will be so cool, thank you pauline!

For One Ok Rock, they formed in 2005, but officially debuted in 2007. (I'd recommend checking out Et Cetera because of the live performance.) Keep IT Real (MV) is from 2006. The band ranged from ages 17 to 18 and had a different drummer and had 5 members. The current lead guitarist played rhythm guitar back then and is the rapper in the music video. This was from an EP. https://youtu.be/sF1larH1-bc Naihi Shinsho (Keep It Inside) was their first official single. This is the is a remaster of the MV for it. The band had 5 members back then and ranged from ages 18-20. https://youtu.be/6xWnkmyijo4 Et Cetera came out later that year and was the bigger chart hit. The first version below is from 2007 and, unfortunately, only has Romanian subtitles. However, it is one of the first performances of OOR that we have recorded on YT. https://youtu.be/l8qW5vYtU3Y The second video I'm linking is an acoustic live version that was played a few years later when the band was more successful (2012?), but comes with English subtitles and is absolutely gorgeous. https://youtu.be/k-Wmyo7GTHc

Oh, ofc. However, idk if you meant double title tracks in general or for Ateez. So here are both explanations 😅 In Kpop, double tts means that a group will promote two songs from an album as they would do for one. So both songs have an MV and both are equally and heavily promoted (on music shows for example). In that way, it's a bit different than having a promoted title + MV for a b-side since only the promoted title gets a real promotion. In Kpop, double tts used to be a thing (especially with YG's groups) but it's definitely uncommon now as it's cheaper (for the company) and more effective (for the fandom) to push and promote only one track at a time. As for Ateez, they started their double tt thingie since debut, with Treasure and Pirate King. However, being from an unknown company, they couldn't even promote one song properly on music shows, let alone promote two songs. So, they decided to go with Pirate King as it was a fan favorite. So I guess that is why people associated Ateez's debut with only Pirate King. The twist tho with Ateez is that since their second comeback, they got the fandom involved in the decision-making as we get to vote, based on spoilers and previews, for which one will get to be promoted first (and seen as the official tt for the general public). Hope it was somehow helpful !

Elina

Thanks! It was really helpful! Do you know anything about Ateez's storyline btw? I have tried to understand it but I think I have to be a rocket scientist to even get an ounce of something I can actually understand😅 I would ask someone else but I have no ATINY friends🥲

Pauline
