Seeing Chan just having fun with puppies and not taking care of the interview actually makes me happy. He has so much on his shoulders every day, he doesnt sleep, his hair stopped to grow and he lost lot of hair, he works nonstop and still can find time for us stays to have a channies room live every weekend even after shows. We could see him there many times how tired he is. He is definitely not just great leader, father to his 7 kids but also hardworking person and i love to see him having a playful time with puppies :D

It's probably worth knowing that they filmed this interview as they were doing their US tour, which they did straight after performing in Korea and Japan so dealing with tiredness a lot too. Also, Chan actually had to have a small surgery recently. He has an issue with his sinuses that was causing him to have breathing problems as he slept and he would wake up dreaming he was suffocating. I think the mix of that tiredness and workload might have been some of the vibe you got. But also, Chan has always been the type who enjoys sitting back and watching the others play so I think he engages more when he's in 'professional' mode. Lately the other members seem to have been working hard to lessen his leader burden so he can sometimes just check out and enjoy. Chan was pretty homesick at this point- due to covid neither Chan or Felix were able to go back to Australia or see their families for nearly 3 years. Their Korean concert in the summer was the first time their families were able to visit and see them again, pretty much since Stray Kids were 1 year old. Chan really missed his dog Berry and said she had probably forgotten him by now. So Chan getting the chance to play with puppies was always likely to be a situation where he just lost himself in the moment and I would imagine the other members would have expected that. In happier news, after their tour Chan had his surgery and briefly went home to Australia with Felix (they did a surprise tiktok live that mildly broke the fandom because everyone was so happy they got to go home). Chan did Chan's room from his childhood bedroom and spent the whole time cuddling Berry and bickering with his sister, it was so lovely to see. And as a side note, it seems Han has been taking over the organising leader role more when Chan can't/doesn't. During their birthday zoom (they were all in quarantine for covid) Chan's internet kept failing so Han spent his time trying to herd cats and keep SKZ on task. Thank you again for your insights. You should definitely watch the recent Human idol Theater. It is pure Stray Kids and you really see group dynamics and some of the quieter ones being themselves because of the format (mockumentary style). Bang Chan is an interesting one. It's hard to know what is happening with any of them because you don't know what is happening off-screen. He could have been upset about something or sick or just distracted but you are right that the group has a deep respect for him. I was watching a 2 kids room with him and Lee Know and he talked about how in other groups he admires that the group speaks informally and he wanted members to do that with him but they don't. While he wants that, I think it speaks to the fact that he is a different type of leader than other groups. He really is sort of the boss/manager of the group. He is a real decision-maker and mentor and then he is the oldest and I think they just have a profound respect for him in that role. I just find this group's personalities and dynamics fascinating.

Nice one, I really enjoyed it. Interesting observation you had there with Chan, never thought of his disconnection in this interview in that way… I hope he is doing fine, but I’m sure the members and others have his back, wanting to disconnect once or twice is fine.. I mean he still involved himself here and there and answered questions as he should. Or it really just was his love for puppies. He is always doing such a great job as the leader. The others and especially Han can take over when needed very well, and I’m sure Bang Chan knows that. I have to say i do really love your reactions and analysis of stray kids, but i also get very frustrated sometimes. Because you have watched so many interviews and such about the boys you do have a really good feel for their personalities and interactions with each other, but i feel like because there are things that you have missed out on musically, or through various content (often that can be found through funny moment compilations, which would explain a lot of the running jokes that the kids have with each other and STAY) that most stays get introduced to early on there are things that are just significant gaps in your knowledge and so its frustrating to watch you draw conclusions that would be correct if there wasnt information out there that directly opposed those gaps. I hope that makes sense? I'm not saying this to attack you, nor do i want to push you in a direction to watch specific things. I think you should explore them at your own pace and learn about them the way you want to, its just also occasionally very frustrating to me to watch lol

Also, i think an interview that might be of interest to you (whether you react or watch in your own time) is this interview that SKZ did with JYP. In this you get a good feel for why and how Bang Chan was entrusted with the leadership position, how stray kids was formed from the point of view of bang chan, and also interestingly a feel for the SKZ relationship with JYP and how self reliant they are because of the sort of... hands off nature JYP has with them.
