Stray Kids - New Teen Vogue Interview (Uncut: 38 Minutes) (Patreon)

Saw Stray Kids just came out with a new interview, so ran right over to do it. Was curious to see how they presented themselves now vs back when I first started reacting to them. What are your thoughts? See a difference?

I think another reason they're so loose and comfortable is because they were extremely busy and had zero free time last year. Han was struggling a lot, Lee Know seemed to be withdrawn and exhausted, and the boys overall expressed how stressed they kind of were. But recently they had a little over a month break where they basically went silent for a while. No interviews, no SKZ Code, no performances, they actually had time to relax. This comeback everyone is so genuinely happy and it's so refreshing for STAY to see!

I agree, Felix is far more confident. I think his fashion roles have helped with that. He used to say that he would be far too scared to ever do anything solo without the members but over the past year he's been doing far more solo parts in stages, features, and becoming the darling of Louis Vuitton meeting so many people and walking the runway. I think it may have helped him feel more confident in himself and his communication skills. Also, Seungmin does have rizz, but have we consdiered this is Chan's pespective ranking. He likes the cute tsundere type 😄

This was such a fun one to watch. They always seem to be more loose when doing things in the English. It was great to see them more relaxed. Another fun one for seeing them having fun and playing, complete with open laughter…is the more recent SKZ Code. There are 2 episodes as of this morning. They’re just playing games in the pool and seem more relaxed. They had a decent sized break before this comeback, so they’re nice and recharged.

LOL! :) I actually thought of you when they asked the deep conversation/best advice questions because I knew you'd get jazzed about them all choosing Changbin! And Chan's Rizz Ranking is absolutely nonsense LOL! I think he was just being diplomatic and trying to avoid "rating" the members even in this silly way.

I agree with you. I think English or Western media content was a bit more nerve-wracking for them in the past because of language and maybe the "importance" of it for "making it." But I think they have and still are learning that when they are themselves, it just works, and they have to let go and do that in English content, too. That's my interpretation and I think they are doing it well.

Loved this! They have definitely come a long way and it was fun to see you reminiscing on your earlier impressions of them. what you said about changbin going into observation mode makes a lot of sense to me! The break they took was definitely good for all of them, and im especially loving seeing han’s energy return lately Potentially another reason the vibe feels more comfortable is that the companies putting on the interviews are more prepared to have korean guests. If you think about it, they have to hire translators and set up bilingual cards/materials for them to read, and before it felt like the production companies behind the interviews didnt care to make things accessible to their guests. I felt this a lot when bts started doing english interviews. Overall, i think channels like teen vogue and buzzfeed have done a better job at creating an environment where their guests can comfortably switch between english and korean Side note: the new skz code where they’re in the pool is my favorite thing they have done in a while! I was laughing out loud alone in my house lol

Chan is absolutely the rizzler of the group and that ranking has got to be one of his worst takes ever… sorry king. Chan->Lee Know->Changbin->Felix->Hyunjin->Seungmin->Han->I.N give or take

You should watch Chan’s interview with DAY6 Young K. They have know each other for a really long time and it’s also a whole new side of Chan I don’t think you have seen much of before

Seconding the YoungK interview with Chan...when away from Skz completely (which is rare) Chan presents very differently. It's very, very fun! It's still recognisably him - just a different vibe in how he engages with the camera and with the people around him. You can sorta tell that he consiously melts into the background much more with Skz these days (def a perk of having 7 other people to share the burden of entertaining). I’m really love this interview. I feel like I’m most English interviews Chan is very… not tense, but on guard, and a few other members are typically very quiet and not engaged (Lee Know, Hyunjin, I.N). Here they just seem more comfortable and confident, and just look like they are enjoying themselves. Also Han wanted to be chosen by Lee Know to take care of his cats so bad 😭 (But I’d leave my cats with Felix too, just from their reactions from the kitten interview they recently did)
