What do you think about Adult Games as a genre? (Patreon)

So, the other day I was thinking about my work and how I tackle it. I'm creating an Adult Gaming Experience, a Visual Novel in the p0rn/erotic genre. And I was wondering how my work did fit into that genre.

I'm pretty clear in my philosophy when it comes to creating ORS and my games in general. I can share it with you if you guys are interested, so if that's the case let me know in the comments.

But beforethat, I wanted to know what do you guys think about the adult genre when it comes to games ( and literature and art in general). It's normally looked at as an inferior, if not problematic, genre, and it's shunned from the mainstream for obvious reasons (sometimes a bit too shunned, like it's the case in this very platform...). That makes big studios or renewed artists stay away from it, so only indie devs, we bunch of unprofessional creators, dare take on projects in this genre. Can you imagine what incredible erotic game a AAA studio like Rockstar could manage to create? 

I doubt that's ever gonna happen, but erotica is getting a bit more mainstream, even if the best we got was 50 Shades of Grey... The target of those books was women though, and it's proven 95% of players of the kind of Visual Novels I make are men. In any case, what do you guys expect from these kind of Visual Novels? What are you looking for here that you can't find in other types of erotic or p0rn content? Let me know down in the comments, I'm interested in your views!

I think of anything "adut"-themed as a guilty pleasure that I don't want to take too seriously, but ORS (as I have mentioned in other comments) feels like it's so much more than that... GGGB was a very good adult game with plenty of choices&consequences (well, it got a little bit played out towards the end...), but ORS genuinely feels like a legitimate game, that happens to have adult stuff in it... and would still work very well without it. In other words, I love ORS and hope it keeps getting plenty of new content for a long time. :)

I am a 41 year old man from the Indiana and I enjoy p0rn. I don't just watch it to get off to, i watch it for ideas in the bedroom, for curiosity's sake, and for ideas to add to my writings. I write stories, nothing that is published unless you accept xhsmster.com as a pu lisher, mostly mainstream stuff that I never finish but also some erotica/p0rn. I also do some beginner coding. I would love to turn one or more of my stories I to games. That being said, my first experience with one of your games came when I found a mod copy of GGGB on a mod site and downloaded it. From the moment i started playing it, I was hooked. I loved it. And not because of the sexual stuff. I loved the story and being able to affect that story. As a writer, I do get distracted by the grammar sometimes, but that's mostly cleaned up. I also thought of things to enhance the game play, but I digress. In the end for me, I'm a gamer and I enjoy the erotica of your games and adult games in general, but that alone doesn't keep me interested. I have played plenty of games for twenty to thirty minutes and just didn't get sucked in to them (pun intended). And I think some nudity or erotica could have benefited some mainstream games, but I think the mainstream still views gaming as something for kids (kids being mostly males between the ages of 8 and 18), and builds around that.
