It's transfer deadline day so the focus of this episode is transfers, in particular the lack of them. Arsenal have a big problem at centre-forward and it doesn't look like anyone is coming, not to mention the fact that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in Barcelona to seal a loan move there. We chat about the window as a whole, the efforts to bring someone in, and what the chances are of a late deal before the window closes, before we answer questions about the internal solutions we could use, goal expectations for the strikers that we have in the squad right now, the current squad depth, goalkeepers and lots more.

Smells to me of Kronke cutting cloth; “you can’t have anyone new until you shift out the dead wood”

Which in principle I think is a good thing. Thank goodness Kola has gone. Massive drain on wage bill

Is there a question to be asked of how Arteta seems to drive the value out of all the players we are happy to move on? He plays Laca and Eddie now despite there being no sell on value to Arsenal anymore, but when there was a chance to sell them and potentially drive their price up, he didn't play them? The way he managed Ozil, Kolasanic, Mustafi, Guendouzi, Bellerin, etc meant that everyone knew we wanted to get rid of them once the market opened. Same is probably happening to Pepe now ...
