In this episode I'm joined by Andrew Allen to discuss postponements and fixture congestion, the January transfer window including the imminent departure of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and whether there's someone coming in to replace him, a dream January arrival and the rationale for pushing the boat out now when it comes to finding a new striker, plus ref chat, improving officiating, looking ahead to the FA Cup, Maitland-Niles Euro-pop and much more.

Andrew(s), can’t help but feel the importance of a goal-scoring, shot-taking #9 is often being overstated. Looking around the league, very few teams have prolific #9s, with most goals seeming to come from wide forwards and 8s. In our case, Martinelli, Saka and Smith Rowe more than pick up the slack and look more and more likely to score with each match day. Our PPG with and without Lacazette speaks for itself and as much as we do need to find a replacement in the not too distant future, I don’t think we should be so keen to want rid of him. He’s also got several good on-field relationships, is important off the pitch and above all else, our best football under Arteta has come with him in the side. Would be great to hear your thoughts.

I think they should mic up these referees and give you an option to have audio with it or without like during lockdown when you could listen with or without crowd noise.

I wonder if it's better to move on players, that you'd rather not play, and if your first choice players get covid, you can do a mugsmasher and get a postponed match, rather than play a second choice squad.
