In this episode we look back at the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night. We chat about the bright start but the inability to build on it, the goals we conceded, Arsenal's passive off-the-ball approach, continued concerns about the team's lack of attacking productivity, the late equaliser which rescued a point against Patrick Vieira's team, and the abysmal refereeing decision when James McArthur only got a yellow card for a brutal foul on Bukayo Saka. Then there are listener questions about Arsenal as a possession side, Thomas Partey and how midfield might look in January when he goes to the AFCON, Martin Odegaard's second poor performance in a row, movement and passing, officiating the officials, Alexandre Lacazette, sprucing up the Emirates and lots more.

On Saka, not sure why Arteta didn't make a big scene and start shouting from rooftops. Poor. As for the game, felt like watching an emerys Arsenal yesterday. Where are the combinations? Where are the triangles? It's every man in their own island in this version of jeugo de position nonsense. The backline is afraid, always dropping off as if we are facing mbappe and the midfielders are running to join the front line. The distances between each player became huge (an emery feature) and it felt like it needs a special skill every time for partey, ESR , Tierney to progress the ball and play to the next guy - which seems like "bad passing" and not having composure but it's the case of too much to do everytime. Stop vacating the midfield for fuck sake. Lacazette came on and just combined with people and suddenly football is so easy. Very worrying performance and for me slightly tipped the balance wrt Arteta. if performances like this continue I'm afraid we will need to make a decision sooner than later, may be next break
