Want to load up a game in Strangerville without the hassle of a mystery? Now you can!

This mod adds a toggle command that will turn off stories until you decide to toggle it back on, even if you close the game!

How to use:

Open the cheat console and enter:

tm.togglestory

This will toggle stories on or off. When off, all stories will be ignored and strangerville will behave just like any other world.

Thanks everyone, enjoy :)

How to install:

Save the file directly to your Mods folder. Make sure Script mods are turned on in your Gameplay options.

Can I love this 1000 times? lol

Oh TM, you never cease to amaze. As ever, well done and thank you!

instantmagic

Is it tm.togglestory ON or OFF to turn strangerville's story off? I'm confused by the wording... LOL. I'm not so PC smart.

TwistedMexi

You can do that or just tm.togglestory. it will tell you whether it's off or on.

Oh THANK GOD, wanted StrangerVille because of the stuff and plants that came with it and because of the world, but hell I didn't want to play through the whole zombie things. Life saver!

Hello! Thank you so much for creating this mod! I downloaded it and enabled the toggle and it seems to be working but sims are still walking around in strangerville using the funny walk. Is that supposed to be happening? :)

TwistedMexi

You can use the narrative cheat to force it to the end if you need to skip it in this save

Ohhh! Okay, see I created a family in a new save and then moved them directly into Strangerville. Thanks!

I tried the cheat, but it didn't notify me whether it was on or off? I don't dare to go into stranger ville now with my simmies. What to do? :(

TwistedMexi

Is the mod showing up on your startup list? If guy didn't get a response it's not installed properly or the command was wrong

Anonymous

I have so much stuff, but I don't see it showing up under "script mods". I do have it in the folder all of the other mods are in, so it should work. Does it conflict with the usual mods like MCC etc?

Anonymous

2 files endling with .pyc, right? I have them in electronic arts/the sims 4/Mod/mods where all of my other mods are in, but I can't find it in the list in game. It should work though?

TwistedMexi

No, you unzipped it when it shouldn't be. Delete those and redownload the file directly to your mods folder. Don't open or unzip

Thank you!!!

Ry

even when I disable the story to off, the game still generates the infection "petals" upon loading a new lot. The petals disappear after the while, though. As long as this is intended, all is good :)

TwistedMexi

It wont generate them if the toggle is already off before you load the world for the first time (per save)

you're my hero.

I put the file directly into my mods folder and have script enabled but no matter when I try putting in tm.togglestory it doesn't work; it doesn't tell me if its on or not or says unable to execute command. Am I doing something wrong?

Anonymous

anyone know if this mod still works?

BlackPiano

I'm getting an error with this mod in relation to Nando's Trip to Egypt mod

TwistedMexi

They're likely incompatible then. I think Nando used the strangerville world as the basis for that mod.

Red.

It keeps saying 'unable to execute command' how do I fix that?

I'm getting a last exception with this in my game but I can't figure out what's wrong?
