<Act 9>

Batman got out of the batmobile, Robin continued to sleep, Batgirl joined Batman.

“Batman, I want to tell you something.”

“Can't it wait?”

“I don't think so. After I swap back, I don't think I could say this, and I think it has to be said.”

“What is it?”

“Batman, I love you!” Batgirl meant what she said. His brain was floating in female hormones. She was truly in love with Batman, she couldn't help herself. She wanted him to know, and this was the only time. When she was back to her own body, it would be awkward to tell Batman that. But it felt right at this time.

“You love me?”

“Yes, I do. I think I always have. The way things are, I think I can finally admit it to myself. I wanted you to know while I have the chance.”

“We can talk about this later. Or not at all, when you are back to normal.”

“Okay Batman, but I will always love you.”

Batman walked up to the ticket office. There was a performance going on. “Two please,” Batman said.

“You don't have to pay.”

“I must like any ordinary citizen, so two tickets please.”

“Orchestra or Balcony?”

“Balcony, we don't plan on staying long.”

“OK, that shall be $25 for two.”

Batman paid for the tickets. Batman and Batgirl entered the theater. They could hear the music immediately.

They walked up to the hatcheck stand. There were two girls working the stand.

“Can I take your cowl?” one hatcheck girl asked.

“Um no.” Batman didn't know which girl was Batgirl. “Which of you is Babette?”

“Not me.” “I'm not,” they said.

“Alright, are either of you Batgirl?”

“Batgirl is behind you,” one of them said referring to Robin in Batgirl's body.

“One second.”

Then privately to Batgirl, “I don't know which is the real one.”

“I don't know either.”

“Maybe Babette can tell us?”

“Okay, I'll go get her.”

“One second, take this,” Batman handed Batgirl some money.

“What's this for?”

“Another ticket.”

Batgirl exited to the batmobile, but when she got there, the seats were empty. Robin had awakened and disappeared.

“She's gone,” Batgirl announced after she returned to the theater.

Batman knew what Batgirl meant.

“I see.”

“What are we going to do?”

“Let's go to the Mad Hatter's new hideout. That is where she is undoubtedly headed.”

“What about Babette?”

“We'll have to figure it out later. We can't take them both.”

“You're right.”

Batman and Batgirl raced to what they thought was Mad Hatter's hideout. Batman in the Batmobile and Batgirl on the Batgirl cycle.

No one was there. They waited for a few hours to no avail.

“Babette must have gotten word to the Mad Hatter,” Batman conceded. “I don't think they are coming.”

“What should we do now?”

“Back to the Batcave.”
