Junichiro couldn't believe what he agreed to.  He had killed someone, and he had a choice. He could spend the next fifty years in jail or could be paroled immediately and put under the guardianship of his wife, Michiko.  For that to happen he would have to be regressed to a little five-year-old girl and be raised in the traditional Japanese way.

Junichiro felt he didn't have any choice in the matter, but he didn't like it.  Michiko hoped that he would adjust to his new life.

Junichiro's mother Fumiko was just happy to have her child back.  Without the influence of his good-for-nothing father, Junichiro would become a valued member of society.  Fumiko would see to that. with her influence, Junichiro might even become a Geisha.
