The Elevator Seventy-Seventh Floor (Patreon)

Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused  trouble to others for his own amusement. Cardonali had the ability to  put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted  to. He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an  elevator waiting to see who would get in.

Joyce couldn't believe what had happened.  She was standing in the corner of the elevator at Payton's command.  She didn't know how it came to this. Joyce was holding back tears.

Payton, Joyce's thirteen-year-old daughter's, stood with her hands on her hips staring at her mother's back.  She was extremely angry.

"Listen here, you've been a bad mom and..."

"But..."

"Did I say you could speak?  Just be quiet and listen or it will go worse for you."  Payton waited a moment and then continued, "You've been a bad mom and so you will lose all your mom privileges.  In fact, you will lose all of your privileges as an adult.  That means firstly you are moving out of the bedroom you share with dad.  Little girls don't share bedrooms with adult men.  You are going into the guest room which will be your room from now on."

"For how..."

"Quiet!  You are going to need new clothes.  Something for a younger girl.  I'll go talk to Mrs. Alonso and see what she got for Katie."  (Katie was Mrs. Alonso's daughter.)

"But, Katie is only five."

"Would you rather I talk to Mrs. McCann.  Her daughter is only three.  I think she is still in pullups.  Do you want to be in pullups?"

"No," Joyce whined.

"Then be quiet."

"I'll talk to Mrs. Alonso and find out what Katie's bedtime is, what she is allowed to do, what she is expected to do, what she is allowed to watch on TV, all that type of stuff.  You'll be doing the same.  Katie is still in preschool, I'll sign you up.

Joyce started to sob in the corner.  She was going to have the lifestyle of a girl who was four a month ago.  It wasn't fair.

"Oh, you don't like it?  You should have thought about that before you did what you did..."
