The Elevator Sixty-Sixth Floor (Patreon)

Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused  trouble to others for his own amusement. Cardonali had the ability to  put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted  to. He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an  elevator waiting to see who would get in.

Bonnie and Morgan had just entered the elevator when Rebecca came running up and pointing at them.

"What did you do to Morgan?  I can't find him anywhere?" she cried.

Bonnie and Morgan turned around, "Who are you?" Bonnie asked.

"I'm Morgan's girlfriend.  We've been seeing each other for almost a year."

"You have?"

"Is this true?" Bonnie asked Morgan.

"Yes, it is.  But it's over now.  I love you and only you!" Morgan said in the high-pitched voice of a four-year-old girl.  

"I don't believe it."

"I'm sorry.  I'm really, really sorry.  It was a big mistake," little Morgan tried to explain.

Rebecca didn't understand any of this.  Her boyfriend was a man, not a little girl.  She had worried when she couldn't contact him for about a week.  That was right after Morgan had reassured her that he was going to leave his wife.  She decided to confront his wife, Bonnie.  Now, she didn't know what to say.  Never in her wildest dreams...no what seemed to be happening was clearly impossible.  Rebecca was so confused that she let the doors of the elevator shut without uttering another word.

Bonnie felt betrayed, she had been married to Morgan for over six years.  She thought their marriage was a happy one.  She never expected that Morgan had been cheating on her.

As the elevator doors closed, Morgan was still trying to convince Bonnie to forgive him.
