The Elevator Forty-Fifth Floor (Patreon)

Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused   trouble to others for his own amusement.  Cardonali had the ability to   put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted   to.  He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an   elevator waiting to see who would get in.

Moments after the above picture was taken...

"Mommy! Mommy!  You have got to help me!" Aaron phoned his wife in a panic.

"I was in the elevator and I saw a scary monster.  I pressed all the floors.  I ran out as soon as the doors opened.

Then I ran into the stairs as fast as I could.

I think the monster stayed in the elevator...but I'm not sure.

I ran up the stairs until I couldn't run anymore.  But I don't know what floor the apartment is on?

Now I am all alone in the stairs.  I don't dare leave the monster could be anywhere.  He can get to any floor he is in the elevator.

Mommy, you have to help me.

I'm so scared!

Someone is coming.  It could be the monster.  I have to go!"

Aaron's wife could hear Aaron start to sob before the phone went dead.   She couldn't believe what she was hearing.  She called the number right back but no one answered.
