Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused   trouble to others for his own amusement.  Cardonali had the ability to   put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted   to.  He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an   elevator waiting to see who would get in.

Geoffrey and Molly hadn't been married long.  They showed it at every opportunity they got.  Even during the ride down in the elevator to the lobby.

"Get a room," Annette said sarcastically as she road down with them.

The couple heard Annette, but they didn't care what she was saying.  They were too much in love to be concerned about what strangers were saying about them.

"Honey, you go without me.  I forgot something at the apartment," Molly told Geoffrey as the elevator reached the lobby.

"Sure, thing.  I'll miss you all day.  I LOVE YOU!"

"I love you too."

When the elevator's doors closed, Annette and Molly were still inside.  They had never seen each other before today.  At least they hadn't remembered seeing each other.  The two took a step closer and then Annette threw herself into Holly's arms.  They gave each other a kiss that made Molly's and Geoffrey's kiss look like awkward middle-schoolers.

When they were done, Molly said, "My fool husband doesn't suspect a thing!"

"Right, men are soooooo stupid.  My boyfriend thinks I'm totally straight."  Both women had been straight minutes before.

"Yeah."

"I'll see you later at the usual place."

"I'll be there."

Bye, lover."
