Chapter 27 - Eight months after the war (NSFW - lemon)

“Ninpo: Four Crimson Ray Formation!” four men shouted at the same time, and four crimson-red rays of light shot up in the air before expanding sideways and forming four walls of light.

In the middle of that crimson barrier stood one young man wearing a black cloak with red clouds on it. The four men who had cast the barrier jutsu were identical to him.

Outside the barrier, a fair distance away, were three huge, towering creatures: an eight-tailed fox, a five-tailed slug, and a one-tailed flaming cat.

“Are you really, really, really sure about this? Is that flimsy barrier going to hold?” asked Kyuubi.

“We’ve been over this before. Stop worrying!” yelled Naruto from inside the barrier.

“Who’s worried?! Stop spouting nonsense!” Kyuubi yelled back in annoyance.

“Then stop yapping and fire the damn bijuudama already!” Naruto shot back.

“Alright! Fine! I’m going to shoot it now! I’m really doing it!”

Saiken and Matatabi watched their interaction in amusement.

“You just can’t be honest with your feelings, can you?” Matatabi said, snickering, and Saiken laughed at Kurama too.

The fox growled at them threateningly, but his two siblings weren’t intimidated.

“The furball makes a good point, though,” said Saiken in a loud voice for Naruto to hear him. “One bijuudama is strong enough to obliterate a mountain, to speak nothing of three of them at the same time. It could be dangerous.”

“Come on, guys, even if the barrier doesn’t hold, I still have my Rinnegan’s chakra absorption ability,” said Naruto. “Stop worrying and fire! I’ll be fine!”

“But why risk it at all? Why don’t you test it with a shadow clone instead?” Matatabi asked.

“I have four clones here. One is keeping Konan company, one is studying Nagato’s jutsu scrolls, one is in Sunagakure, one is protecting Takumi Village, in the Land of Rivers, and one is in Konoha, talking with the Hokage now. Nine clones are my limit. I could make more clones, but I’d be getting a nasty headache from sensory overload.”

The three bijuu wanted to tell him that the clone that was in Sunagakure could be dispelled now, and that was the case for the one who was studying Nagato’s jutsu scrolls too. But they let out a collective sigh and gave up on trying to change his mind.

Naruto had sent a clone to Sunagakure for the sake of asking Gaara, the Kazekage, permission to test his jutsu in the uninhabited parts of the Land of Wind’s vast desert. Firing bijuudama within the borders of the Land of Rain and Rivers was too dangerous due to how small it was. Having received Gaara’s permission, the bijuu thought he could just dispel it, but things weren’t quite like that; it wouldn’t be nice for Naruto’s clone to leave immediately after asking for a favour. It was common sense for him to stay and catch up with his friend for a while.

As for the clone that was studying Nagato’s jutsu scrolls, Naruto had made a habit out of learning all sorts of techniques he could get his hands on. Although many of them would end up being of no real use to him due to how strong and versatile the Rinnegan was, others could be invaluable in the right situation, as was the case for the Four Crimson Ray Formation. It was a barrier jutsu created by the Uzumaki Clan, a technique that could only be cast by four people who had as much chakra as a ninja on the level of a kage.

Now, Naruto was in the middle of testing that barrier’s performance.

‘If this barrier jutsu can withstand three bijuudama at once, it would be incredible. Amegakure would become impenetrable. Even if Iwa and Kumo were to invade again, the village would be completely safe. I wouldn’t need to worry about anyone, I could focus completely on beating up the invaders.’

Kurama, Saiken, and Matatabi all got in position, standing on three different sides around the barrier, and large spheres of purple-black chakra took shape in front of their open mouths.

“Bijuudama!” the tailed beasts shouted as they fired their attacks at the Four Crimson Ray Formation.

As the three bijuudama smashed into the red barrier jutsu, an incredibly powerful explosion boomed. An immense ball of plasma reduced everything to atoms, and all the surrounding sand was turned into glass.

A deafening shockwave exploded outwards, raising an enormous sandstorm, and then a huge cloud in the shape of a mushroom pierced the sky.

It took the three bijuu roaring together to confine the sandstorm and prevent it from darkening the sky for tens of kilometres.

Despite that the remnants of the three bijuudama’s explosion were yet to dissipate, Kyuubi ran towards the barrier.

“Aww, was the big and fierce Nine-Tailed Demon Fox worried about little old me?” said Naruto in a baby voice when he saw Kurama’s large face looking down on the barrier.

Kyuubi let out a “Hmpf!” and turned his head away.

“You have an inflated sense of self-importance. Who cares about you?” Kyuubi said, flicking his large tails in annoyance and stirring a great gale of wind.

Naruto and his four shadow clones sniggered together at the tsundere fox.

Soon enough, the other two bijuu approached the site too.

“I’ve never seen a barrier jutsu this powerful,” said Matatabi. “Kumogakure had some formations too, but none were anywhere close to this.”

“I can’t believe there's not even a crack on the barrier after taking three bijuudama at once,” Saiken said too.

It was as they were saying. Other than its walls shuddering and bending for a moment, the Four Crimson Ray Formation held out perfectly. The three bijuudama exploding at once were not even close to powerful enough to destroy it.

“Thanks for the help, guys,” said Naruto. “Shall we go home now?”

“Don’t do such dangerous things next time,” Matatabi chided him. “What if the barrier didn’t hold? What if you got injured, or worse?”

“Yeah, yeah, sorry, mom.”

The giant cat hissed at his sarcasm in annoyance, annoyance which only increased when Saiken and Kurama laughed at her.

The racoon went back to the deserts of the Land Wind, but far away from Sunagakure; the turtle returned to the sea, travelling the world after being imprisoned for so long; the horse and the monkey started roaming the continent west of Iwagakure together; and the beetle made a home for himself in the forests of the Land of Waterfalls.

However, Saiken, Matatabi, and Kurama decided to stay behind and live in the Land of Rain and Rivers.

For Kurama, it was simple: Naruto was his best friend, and he had already dug out a den for himself in the mountains at the border between Earth and Rain.

Saiken was a slug. A gigantic slug made of chakra but still a slug; he loved warm and humid places, so the Land of Rain was the perfect environment for him. Furthermore, Saiken was, in Naruto’s opinion, the least malicious out of all his bijuu siblings, so he preferred to avoid conflict if possible. Going back to the Land of Water would undoubtedly lead to strife and war with Kirigakure’s shinobi. Lastly, Saiken desired his siblings' companionship too. Therefore, staying in the Land of Rain was like hitting three birds with one stone: comfort, safety, and companionship.

As for Matatabi, she didn’t particularly like the Land of Rain, nor did she particularly desire to be in other bijuus’ company. But she knew that the Land of Lightning would spare no expense to capture her again. Having experienced the strength of the first three Raikages, she understood that it wouldn’t be safe to return there. It was wiser for her to live in the canyons of the Land of Rivers, away from the wetlands, but still very close to Kurama and Saiken.

Naruto could have made his shadow clone summon him back to Amegakure, but he decided to walk with his three bijuu friends on his way back from the Land of Wind.

He had unsealed the tailed beasts from the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path several months ago. After spending the entire summer together with Kurama, Saiken, and Matatabi, he had become close to them. It was to the point where even Matatabi, despite her reserved personality, started seeing him as a friend and fussed over his safety when he was being reckless, like before.

The bijuu took great care not to get too close to human settlements, but the inhabitants of the Land of Rain and Rivers had become accustomed to seeing their gigantic silhouettes in the distance. Nonetheless, none of them was crazy enough to go and poke at the bijuu with a stick. They knew to stay out of their way.

⁂ A few months later ⁂

Time passed, and autumn came. More than half a year had passed since Iwagakure and Kumogakure attacks on Ame. The two Hidden Villages were forced to retreat after their armies were decimated, and in the months that followed, neither of them had made any moves. Or, at the very least, that appeared to be the case on the surface.

“The convoy transporting rice to the Land of Frost was attacked again,” muttered Naruto as he skimmed through a report. “How many casualties?”

“None,” replied the shinobi stiffly, standing nervously in front of his desk. Even after spending several weeks personally training the chunin and jonin of his country and letting them become familiar with him, most of them were still nervous in his presence. “The enemies were unlucky to attack the convoy while Ibaraki Suiron was escorting it. He decapitated them all with his Kubikiribocho.”

“That’s great. Have you found anything about their identities?”

The Rain chunin shook his head.

“I’m sorry, we couldn’t get anything out of them. They didn’t wear any forehead protectors or items that could betray their identity. We spared one of them for the sake of interrogation, but she had killed herself by biting on a poisoned molar.”

Naruto frowned and stared ahead with a blank look on his face, deep in thought, unknowingly terrifying his subordinate with his Rinnegan eyes.

“Thank you for your hard work. You are dismissed,” said Naruto when he noticed that he was making him uncomfortable.

Once the chunin left, he fell back in thought.

‘This is the sixth attack in the past two months…’

The first two times their merchant convoys were attacked, all the Rain and Rivers merchants and the shinobi escorting them were massacred, and the goods were stolen.

Realising that they were being targeted, he started sending teams of powerful Jonins to patrol their trading routes. Unfortunately, that was only a temporary band-aid to a bigger problem, not a solution.

‘Every time, none of the attackers were wearing forehead protectors, not even crossed ones. But I’m absolutely certain they’re either from Iwagakure or Kumogakure. Kirigakure is definitely involved too; they’re the only ones who know the seas well enough to find and attack the merchant sailboats we sent to the Land of Moon. Unfortunately, we have no proof that it's them.’

He let out a sigh. He didn’t like his current job. He wasn’t good at dealing with problems that couldn’t be punched away. Alas, he had to do it because Konan was semi-retired at this point due to her pregnancy.

‘One of these days, I will disguise myself as a regular chunin and take on an escort mission. The others may not be able to extract information from the assailants because they commit suicide right away, but my Human Path will make it easy for me.’

The problem was that those attacks happened seemingly at random. There was no telling when or where they were going to strike; he could be spending weeks or months escorting waggons and sailboats without getting face-to-face with the attackers.

‘But the moment I get my hands on one, I will know for sure.’

He let out another sigh. He preferred not going to Konan with every little problem, but he couldn’t come up with a better solution on the spot. He needed her advice to stop those guerrilla saboteurs.

From the moment that Konan found out that she was pregnant, she started searching for an educated person adept at taking care of social and economic issues in the Land of Rain and Rivers. She needed a person to replace her, a minister of sorts.

Unlike in other states where the Feudal Lord was at least equal to the Kage, if not above them, in the Land of Rain and Rivers, the minister would always be subordinated to Konan or whoever the next leader of Amegakure was going to be. Finding and training that person to essentially become a minister took time and effort. Because of that, Konan continued to work until the latter part of the second trimester of her pregnancy.

That being said, the military side of things fell on Naruto’s shoulders. Granted, he wasn’t alone. Konan’s advisors and Konan herself were there to guide and support him. But it was still a daunting task for someone inexperienced in leading military operations like him.

Looking at the clock hanging on the wall, Naruto decided to call it a day.

Arriving home, he hung his raincoat and took off his boots before getting inside.

The moment he entered the living room and his eyes fell on his wife, unknowingly, a smile made its way onto his face. She was wearing only a simple, loose black dress with white dots, and she was gorging herself in a rather unladylike manner with another one of her weird, pregnancy crave snacks, but, in his eyes, she looked adorable.

“Naruto! You’re home!” she said happily, momentarily putting down her plate.

He had left a shadow clone behind to keep her company while he was working, but Konan always preferred the original.

“Eating again?” he said teasingly as he sat down on the sofa next to her.

“You want some?” she asked and brought the chopsticks to his mouth, trying to make him eat something that looked like a meatball dipped into a mixture of caramel and grated cheese.

The sound of her laughter filled the room when she saw the grimace he made.

“How can you eat that?”

Konan didn’t reply; she just giggled softly as she took back her chopsticks, eating the caramel-dipped meatball herself.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and brought her closer to him.

“What are you reading?” he asked, noticing the levitating book in front of her.

As she was too busy wolfing down the meatballs to speak, Konan just levitated the book closer for him to read it.

How to talk to kids… Do you need a special way to talk to them?” he asked after reading the book’s title.

“Of course,” Konan said, momentarily pausing from eating to answer him. “You need to be calm and have patience with them. Sometimes, you have to be firm. Other times, you have to be encouraging. You have to be more careful with them than with adults.”

“Or you could just beat them,” said Naruto, but he couldn’t keep a straight face and pretend that he was serious. Just seeing the way she started glaring at him made him burst into laughter. “What? It worked perfectly on Konohamaru. One punch was all it took for him to start calling me boss– Ow! Ow! I’m joking! Stop biting!” he yelped when she sunk her teeth into his shoulder and bit hard.

“You better start reading this book too,” she said, pointing her chopsticks at him. “And not just this; other books on parenting too!”

“Do I really have to?” he said in a whiny voice. “You know I hate reading. And I’m already so busy with leading the village in your stead!”

“Don’t give me that. You have shadow clones and a nigh-infinite amount of chakra. As for your hatred of reading, your clones had no problems with reading Nagato’s jutsu scrolls for hours every day last summer.”

“That’s different! It’s jutsu! Powerful techniques, barriers, and even sealing! What’s there not to like about it?!”

“Naruto.”

The way her orange eyes narrowed at him had Naruto caving in almost instantly.

“You and I, we are both orphans,” Konan said. “I grew up in the middle of a war, amidst death and poverty. You were a jinchuuriki, ostracised by your village, and then hunted by the Akatsuki due to your tailed beast. Neither of us has had a normal childhood. We didn’t have parents or any good role models to show us how to be good parents. So that’s why we have to study and learn about how to be good parents so that our children will become good people too when they grow up.”

“I understand…. I’ll start reading too, I promise,” he relented.

“Good. Now stop pouting. Meatball?” she said as she brought her chopsticks to his mouth one more time, trying to make him get a taste of her snack again.

“God, no, take that away from me!” he said, turning his head away from her.

She laughed softly as she started eating again.

“How were the babies today?” he asked as he started softly caressing her belly.

Konan let out a soft cry of pain as her babies suddenly kicked when Naruto touched her.

“Aww, they know Daddy is home,” said Naruto in amazement, and he got off the sofa, kneeling in front of Konan to put his ear on her belly and listen.

She ruffled his spiky blond hair in amusement.

“How would they know that, you doofus? Besides, wasn’t your clone here, with me, the entire time?”

“Yes, it was, but you don’t let my clones touch you. Now they must have felt my chakra. Our children will be sensors, just wait and see!”

“Oh, they kicked again! I felt it!” Naruto exclaimed.

His excitement and good mood were so contagious that Konan found herself laughing with him.

“Say, do you want to go for a walk?” she asked.

“Sure thing,” said Naruto. “Where do you want us to go today?”

“Let’s pay a visit to Kurama. Let’s fly over there.”

“I don’t know if it’s a good idea to fly all the way there… It’s raining heavily outside,” he said.

“Please~”

He just couldn’t say ‘no’ to her when she pleaded like that.

“Okay, okay..."

He couldn’t say he understood exactly what she was going through, but he did understand how stifling it must be to spend most of her days lying down.

Ever since Konan became pregnant, her doctor forbade her from using her Paper Ninjutsu, fearing that it would harm the babies in her womb when she transformed her body into paper in order to fly or disperse with a paper kawarimi. Because of that, Konan had been living almost like a civilian for the past 5 months.

As she stood up from the sofa, ever the playful one, Naruto gently swept her off her feet and took her in his arms like a princess.

“You just can’t help yourself, can you?” she said with a smile.

“What’s wrong with spoiling my beautiful wife?” he asked, grinning and kissing her lips.

Naruto and Konan had gotten married in the summer. It had been a quiet, private affair, with only a few people getting invited. Gaara, Tsunade, Shizune, the leader of the craftsmen from Takumi Village, Hayate Uzumaki (the new wielder of Samehada), and Temari, Kankuro, Shikaku Nara, and Yamato, who were escorting their respective kage.

“Beautiful? With this huge belly? And these chubby cheeks? And these flabby-”

Naruto cut off her complaints by kissing her on the lips again.

“You’re beautiful. And I love you.”

This time, Konan was the one who cupped his face in her hands and pulled his head down to her so she could kiss him. Their kiss grew in passion, and soon, instead of getting ready for their little trip to the other end of the country, Naruto headed with Konan in his arms to their bedroom.

“Naruto, I need you,” she said in a voice thick with need as he lowered her onto the bed.

“What about your visit to Kurama?” he asked with a grin.

“Don’t tease me,” she moaned in impatience. “Help me take this off.”

He smiled as he slowly pushed up her loose dress, revealing her smooth, long legs and her pale white thighs. They were thicker than before and had some chub on them too due to her weight gain, but he loved them all the same, and he made sure to show his feelings to her by rubbing his hands on them and peppering them with kisses.

Konan watched with bated breath as he pushed her dress up and how his lips slowly inched closer to her core. She shivered and bit her lower lip with need when she felt his lips on her inner thigh, mere centimetres from her aching pussy.

“Don’t tease me, Naruto,” she pleaded, trying to push his head closer with her hands. “I’ve cleaned myself for you. I’m ready for you. I need it.”

A small cry came from her mouth, and her back arched off the bed when he finally kissed her lower lips.

“Yesss!”

Ever so gently, he pushed one finger inside her, all the while kissing and licking her clit. Her moans and whispers of encouragement turned into cries of pleasure when he inserted a second finger, and her thighs suddenly clenched around his head when he curled them inside her pussy.

Maybe it was because his skills had improved that much, or maybe Konan was just extra horny and sensitive during her pregnancy, or maybe it was a mixture of both because only a few minutes later, Konan was shaking, moaning, and splashing his face with her juices.

However, one thing was sure: one day, three months ago, it was as if a switch had been flipped, and Konan's libido went off the charts. Since then, Naruto had been the happy recipient of her affection, and he was more than ready and willing to meet her needs.

Pushing her dress over her belly and then over her head, Konan’s body was now bare for him to admire. Although she was nearly six months pregnant with twins and had gained quite a bit of weight, Naruto still found her attractive, and his love for her grew with every passing day.

He kissed his way up her belly lovingly and caressed her body gently with his hands. Soon, he arrived at her breasts. Even before, Konan wasn’t lacking in that area, but now her breasts were two cups larger than before, looking almost too large for her small frame.

Konan suddenly seemed to come to life from her little death, and her arms and legs wrapped as tightly around Naruto’s back as her belly allowed her to when his lips touched one of her sensitive nipples and his thumb lightly rubbed the other one.

“I miss your piercings,” Naruto murmured, making her laugh as he kissed her nipples. At the doctor’s advice, she had taken off her nipple piercings during the first trimester.

“But pregnancy has its perks too, doesn’t it?” she asked when he started sucking her nipples and drank her breast milk.

He only stopped when he felt her hands wrapped around his member, trying to make him put it in.

“So impatient,” he said teasingly.

“Ngh, just-.. Ahh! Yess!” she moaned in bliss when she was finally filled with his dick.

But when he tried to do it slowly, she grabbed him by his ass with her hands and pulled him to her as hard as she could.

“Easy there; I don't want to hurt you!” he said in worry, trying to be gentle with her.

“Deeper!” she whined. “Harder!”

Her legs tightened around his waist, and she pressed him to her like a vice in a wordless attempt to make him fuck her harder.

“I’m a kunoichi. I won’t break, nor will our babies,” she said, and, before he could protest, she suddenly rolled with him, getting on top of him.

Grabbing him by the wrists, she pinned his arms above his head, and then she started riding him. She smashed her hips slowly but deeply and powerfully, every smack of their bodies sending tremors through them both.

Watching his pregnant wife ride him with such lust was his undoing. When she also let go of his wrists and bent down to take his mouth in a deep kiss, he threw away his reservations. He could only control himself for so long. After all, he was only a man, and, in his eyes, his wife was an angel.

Thrusting against each other deeply, with their lips and tongues intertwined and their arms embracing each other lovingly, their chakras reached to one another too, moulding together. It was a union of both body and soul.

It wasn’t the first time they experienced such a sensation, but it was not any less overwhelming. Even after reaching their release, the two of them could do nothing but lay in each other's arms, not moving, just basking in the bliss of their union with their eyes closed.
