"The Big Book of British Smiles" was in the cartoon orthodontist office in The Simpsons. American dentistry was ahead of other countries and there were always jokes about their teeth and overbites.

Context for opening sequence: The British Invasion in 1968 with the Beatles made the fans crazy. They are making fun of the Beatles movie HELP were the fans chase them through the streets like Austin Powers. Also, there was a popular variety show called The Benny Hill show, and the ending credits always ended with a pedestrian chase scene.
