This is one of my faves! I'm glad you got to enjoy this holiday classic!! There is a sequel they came out last year, A Christmas Story Christmas. Hopefully you can react to that someday.

Every time I watch this I’m 8 years old again. Christmas season officially kicked off with the first viewing of this movie. So much nostalgia. Fun fact—the mom’s reactions to the Christmas dinner scene were pretty much all real. That scene was mostly adlibbed, especially the bit with the duck still having its head. Darrin McGavin was a national treasure. I associate him most with Kolchak. Does anyone else get that reference?
