late 80's early 90's? Sorry you make me laugh sometimes. This came out in 83 filmed, filmed mostly in 82. His floppy disk I believe is the old 14" disks. One of my good friends had a computer back in the early to mid 80's and he had a phone hook up to it, and cassette disks that he had to run etc. But in school I remember when we got the Apple computers and it was a big deal. by the time I graduate din 92 we were using mostly Macitosh's. But, yeah there were quite a few films throughout the 80's that warned about AI and computers running thing, yet.. we don't seem to listen do we? It's scary.

A very interesting, very real scenario with similar implications happened about 3 months after this movie was released. The story involving Stanislav Petrov, and his refusal to give the launch command against the US in spite of the data the Soviet Union was receiving is rather amazing.

I love the "No, he doesn't have to answer your questions" as it should have been.

Great reaction as usual, but the "programmer" Dabney Coleman is absolutely amazing in 1980s movies.

Love the old tech too. I remember the floppy’s and DOS on the old apples and ibms. Also the ribboned paper printers I believe were Dot Matrix

Was finally able to get a hold of WarGames to watch this. I had seen it before but it's been a while. Glad you enjoyed it! I actually enjoy Anime, and two of my favorite anime movies were based off this movie - not a 'remake' but similar situations, where someone accidentally sets off nukes and they have to fix the situation. Knowing they were based off this movie I was happy to see the source. Have a good day. :)
