I only suggested man of steel because I figured he already saw superman. but if superman 1978 is an unwatched movie than yes certainly the original before the new one. both are phenomenal movies but completely different.

just a friendly suggestion, if superman wins the poll might I suggest watching the extended cut of the film, its about 30 extra awesome minutes not seen in the theatrical version.

Shorter is actually better. I have to cut the film so deeply that extra scenes people aren't familiar with makes the story difficult to follow.
