Question: "Do any of the ROs have mommy or daddy issues? :<"

Answer:

Oof, this question can be spoilery since your MC will get to witness, possibly even influence, some exchanges between the characters. It can touch on character backstories, but I balanced that in the answer. Also, I went more with a: "it's complicated" vibe than typical mommy/daddy issues since those will vary.

October is B. Warrick's birthday month! I know for a fact that their past will be brought up during their RO excursion and that many of you have read mentions of Gloria when your MC goes to check in on B in the Book Two alpha content. I won't spoil too much; however, B's childhood is a sore spot. The MC is familiar with B's grandmother, most likely having met her and tried her yummy baking. The MC will not hear B talk about their parents; they can't really…

Well, you all have met Mrs. Dorran. 💙 She's lovely, and S. Dorran is very fortunate to have her in their life, supporting any and everything they set their mind to. S views her as their only family; they realize she's more than enough… We're going to leave it at that for now.

For better or worse, you all have been scrutinized by—I mean, you have met Ms. Verner. I know she earns a variety of reactions both from you and your MCs; however, I think our bonus writings on here along with certain scenes in Book One allude to how complex she is.

R. Verner's bond with their mom is extremely complicated! Their father's death helped that relationship to deteriorate even further, so yes, they have issues with their mother. We will see more of what shaped Ms. Verner; your MC can also influence this dynamic, so I'd be careful.

J is an interesting case, indeed. The Corvins do value family above all else, and yet J seems to be scarce around them. (They can grow tense when their father enters a room or if they are alone with him without A or Momma Corvin as a buffer.) We learned in Book One that A missed their sibling visiting the farm, especially to stay the night, so they could spend more time together. The start of Book Two has revealed that J has their own apartment, which could make sense given their age/job, but I wonder when they moved out… or were asked to? You will learn more!

The Detective's issues with their parents are hard to pin down—the real reasons as to why.

Mal says they were:

1. Hatched.
2. Sprung into existence fully formed with their enticing aura of mystery.
3. Escaped from a top secret lab.
4. Taken in by a shady force, so adopted…?
5. Has plenty of issues without bringing up their sires. Oh, and for me to add this: 🦇 emoji

Ignoring Mal's usual dedicated tampering with these answers to tease you, I can reveal:

Mal once loved their parents very much, but that time is past.

I wondered about that with Mal because of the options during that dream!

Also now wondering if that's how Mal knows everything about the MC. No shield like Bella lol

Oh, I love how that choice sparked your curiosity about Mal! 🦇😉There is another 'vampire' reference choice in Book Two on their date, but Mal's reaction to it is interesting. We will learn why they know so much about the MC with time; it's quite the twist. 💚 (I have a few songs from Twilight on their playlist: 'Eyes On Fire' and 'Supermassive Black Hole' because of their intense vibes.)

I see the entire cast has some...troubling backstory regarding that aspect of their life. Out of all of them I'm extremely interested in J and his family, a bit paradoxical with "valuing family above all else yet J isn't always present(?)" can't wait to read what's up with that

More or less! 😌 Currently within TFS, J and R would be at the forefront of having these types of issues since S (especially S!) and B have a shaky sort of acceptance with it. Mal simply doesn't think about it. Oh, I agree with you whole-heartedly about the Corvin family paradox. I'm excited for you to meet J's parents in game; it can provide so much insight into both their and A's dispositions. It can be a rather eventful family dinner. >.>
