Question: "Does R have an interest in things like amusement parks/bungee jumping or anything that might not "fit" a Verner Heir but had to refrain from ever acting out on those desires due to their position?"

Answer:

The answer to this is an emphatic 'yes'!

Does that mean R always abided by their position? No, it doesn't. There is a choice option within Chapter 3 where R admits to once having tried to scale the obelisk in the town square, which was decidedly not very Verner heir behavior, lol. As the years stacked up, the leniency (protection?) their age used to afford them became less and less, not that there was ever much to start with…

It's because of this that R has a unique view on certain childhood hallmarks—they didn't get to experience them (or at least not to the fullest extent). We see a hint of this when they plan an itinerary for a playdate, ranking the equipment on the playground and color-coding the budgeted timeline. They didn't want to mess up this outing with the MC; they needed everything to be perfect. But back to your question, R does have interests that do not align with that Verner heir image; however, they're still the Verner heir, which means certain cultivated interests as well.

There is a particular mention in Book Two that your question reminds me of; R mentions scaling a water tower. I'll leave it at that for now. I do think R/JR-mancers and those who befriend R should definitely take them to an amusement park; you would love how their face lights up.

I am now severely upset at the fact the playdate was ruined! Poor baby R! Dw Sparrow will try and convince them to do not-so heir worthy stuff! To the amusement park!!!

I just picture R sitting at a stuffy desk and painstakingly creating the itinerary, and then I picture them NOT crying after the failed playdate while fighting the urge to rip the itinerary. And anyway, I'm totally fine.

I can imagine Sparrow and R wanting to go on all the roller coasters while J lugs around any treats/prizes the two might have picked up. XD Also, same about the play date. Maybe you will be able to make it up to R? 👀

It almost tempts me to mention how R might have ~possibly~ kept that itinerary, no doubt conflicted over how it never came to fruition but also unwilling to destroy it. A lot of care (along with hope) went into their crafting of it. Perhaps, the play date will come up again. 🖤🤔
