"For those unfamiliar, it is not uncommon for the Japanese zodiac to be present alongside the modern calendar. It is largely the same as the Chinese zodiac (barring some key differences), and similarly marks years with one of twelve animals: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Boar (the Chinese zodiac replaces Sheep and Boar with Goat and Pig, respectively). It follows a 12-year cycle, each year changing to the next animal before repeating. This year was the Year of the Ox, so next year will be the Year of the Tiger, and so on and so forth."
