Morning commute's are part of the day that if in a week you try to recall them, you likely can't remember any of the details. Your brain goes onto auto pilot after the challenges have been addressed and unless something extraordinary happens it becomes a time for your brain to take a break from critical thinking.

For Malinda, the Bus ride into work had become mundane.  She made sure to arrive early enough that the other riders were sparse.  There wasn't many spots she could sit but given the fact she worked in the city, it was a necessary sacrifice.

Even a 14 foot woman needs to make a living.
