I think both books can use stronger art. This can be said for most of the new Marvel stuff. For me, it's not the diversity characters, the identity politics or the lack-luster writing that's dragging them down. For me, it's the art. They're just not drawing the girls sexy anymore. That's what i focus on and with so many female characters, even if they're just gender swapped for diversity, who cares, but with so many ladies, just draw them sexier. This I assume is something they are trying to avoid. No problem, I will draw them sexy then.
