If Leon wins please watch the International version / Extended Cut (133 min.)

Who Are These People

Luc Besson, at age 30, raped a 14-15 year old child (Maiwenn Le Besco, who appears in the movie as the girlfriend of the fat boss at the beginning). He originally wrote that Leon and Mathilda had sex because 'Mathilda seduced him' as a way of justifying himself having raped a child which he claimed seduced him but the producers forced him to change it. I can't watch 'Leon' without thinking about that poor girl he raped. A lot of pedophiles prefer the extended edition because it's more sexually suggestive.

False. The relationship was entirely consensual (also legal under French law) and they even got married. Maïwenn and Besson began dating when she was 15. In January 1993, at age 16, she gave birth to their daughter Shanna. Their marriage ended in 1997 when Besson began a relationship with actress Milla Jovovich who he also married. Maïwenn has never accused him of rape and they remained friendly even after the divorce. The difference in their ages may seem creepy (even to me) but what you said in your comment is completely false and libellous. On the DVD extras for the 1994 film Léon: The Professional, Maïwenn said the film is based on her relationship with Besson, and she has always been very proud of it, even appearing in the movie, as you said. In 2018, actress Sand Van Roy, who appeared in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, accused Besson of rape. There were two investigations into these allegations both of which were dropped and the complaints against him were dismissed. Calling anyone who watches the movie (including many of your fellow Patrons) a pedo is just wrong and extremely offensive, especially when based upon your false information.
