I saw this movie at 15yo at the drive-in back in 1973. It is still my favorite movie all these years later. I formed a huge crush on Linda Blair and a few years ago I finally met her at a horror convention.

This movie is usually considered among the scariest movies of all time and when it came out, there was so much controversy and other bits of hysteria over it. I have a funny story that was told to me in my childhood: so my Mom (middle child) told me that when they were children, her younger sister used to goof around and roll her eyes in the back of her head and freak people out for fun and whatnot. So her older sister went and saw “The Exorcist” in the movie theaters when it first came out and when my aunt, the oldest, came home, the youngest said “Hey!” and rolled her eyes back and made scary noises and my older aunt slapped her hard and was like “Don’t ever do that again!!!” because she was scared shitless from watching the movie. 🤣😅 I watched this as a teenager and yeah, this movie is a great horror movie. So scary and fucking nuts and it still holds up pretty good today.
