It's always so sad to see you cry but I can totally understand how you can relate a lot more, because of people from your family and being familiar to how things look. And again thanks for the translation and explanation of certain things like the black crow song, I don't think anyone I've seen react to this has done it, gives a different insight on the whole situation. For the animals, I think in essence it was considered mercy kills, to prevent them suffering the effects of radiation and also because they would contaminate people if they were taken elsewhere. As for the liquidators on the roof, it's incredible they had to resort to sending men up there, a lot of the ones who survived still live with the effects of going up there but in the end they are part of the heroes from all of this, so many anonymous people who truly saved humanity from something much worse. One day I'd love going one of the Chernobyl and Pripyat tours, if only to pay respect to all of them, for their sacrifice for the greater good. It's hardly radioactive now, obviously some stuff like vehicles and metal objects are still heavily contaminated but wandering around on a tour is not any more dangerous there than anywhere else, it might trigger the dosimeters but overall it's safe to visit.
